Anyone else going to check out the movie "Act of Valor"?

 

The characters are portrayed by active duty Navy SEALS. It looks pretty cool:

I think the movie looks pretty awesome. It's a little different style too. I'm interested to hear what some think, it might get me to the theatre.

I don't think I've ever gone to a movie alone but tonight might be the first. I'm intrigued by this one...

Would love to see this. Unfortunately the girlfriend's brother is in the Marines over in Afghanistan right now, so she "can't do" military movies. I guess I'll have to wait for it to come to video.

I'm talking more about tonight, and, when I'm hanging out with the guys, we aren't seeing movies. That's what chicks do. :lol:

So if I am reading you correctly your lovely gal pal determines what movies you see and what movies you do not see since you and your boys never see a movie?

I pick 90% of the movies we see. When she has a personal reason for not wanting to see something, I pass on that movie. Only time she does is war movies, so I haven't really missed anything worth-while anyways.

In all honesty, there are very few movies I would ever waste the $10+ it costs on tickets to see in a theater. I'd much rather just wait until the come out on video as it is. I maybe see 4-5 in theaters a year.

Gotcha. I fully understand her not wanting to see a military flick. Heck, go by yourself and see it if it's of interest.

Me, too. My wife isn't into some of the documentaries I like to check out.

Not gonna lie they really need to fix ticket prices. Went the other night with the girlfriend and it was $20 for us both, $29 after a water and some milkduds. I could've waited 6 months and bought the movie for half of that.

I heard that one of the reasons that active Seals had to do the movie is that no stuntmen could do some of the scenes. That's impressive.
