Stunner of the night?

Henry Clay was my pick to win the 11th.. Just more reassurance that I know much less about basketball than I like to think I do. Congrats to Station. Biggest upset of the postseason thus far.

Absolutely. The last time these two met a very late and controversial technical decided the game. Station knew then they'd meet Clay in the first round of districts. They also had Jordan Henry back for this game as well.

Not even surprised. I am certain I said it on here that Station wanted this game bad and was determined to win this game. I hate I missed it. I'd love to know how Jaylen Beckham did. He's been wanting this game since the last meeting of these two teams.

 

I knew someone posted (I thought it was you) that Bryan Station really wanted to end Henry Clay's season and thought they could do it.

My understanding is that they had a pep rally at Bryan Station High School on Wednesday for this game.

 

You could see it in the Bryan Station and Coach Mike Allen's eyes last night that they really wanted this game.

 

Surprised? No.

 

Remember, these kids are very familiar with each other since many of them have played together on summer teams. Henry Clay won twice during the regular season and then Station "dragon-slayed" them in the first round of the district tournament. Last night, Bryan Station had a starter back who had been out with an injury (Jordan Henry), but had two of their top eight players out (Marcelleous Washington and Larry Morton) due to coach's decision.

 

Henry Clay is very talented, but very young. They started 3 sophomores, a junior, and a senior point guard last night. They have a bright potential future, but losing a 13 point lead to an 11-19 team they had beat twice earlier in the year at home in the first round of the district tournament is a bitter ending to their season.
