February 23, 201214 yr I HATE this about the state of officiating. Fouls are only called based on the outcome, not if there was an actual foul. The Darius 3 was a perfect example. No call until it was clear the shot was missed. A foul is a foul is a foul. It doesn't matter if the shot goes in, and it doesn't matter if Jones is actually hurt. Should you not be tossed if you take a swing at someone, but they react fast enough to get out of the way? And that whole sequence was ridiculous anyway. First, he hung on the rim (which Davis had already been T'ed up for), then he made a show complaining to the official (which Teague had already been T'ed up for), then he chased Jones down and tried to trip him from behind. I agree. Based on previous calls, Moultrie should have been hit with two T's before he ever had a chance to kick Jones. I don't necessarily think he was trying to hurt Jones, but I do think it was an irrational act made in a moment of frustration. I see the push as a similar play. Just frustration taken out in a way that isn't acceptable, IMO. They need to be able to control themselves better. It seemed like MSU was clinging to their lead for much of the second half. UK made an early run to tighten the game back up, then they made a couple of runs and nearly got back even, but the Bulldogs managed to make a couple of big plays to hold them off. Then Miller gets fouled on the three ball, makes all the foul shots and cuts it back to 4. Maybe it was just me, but it just felt like UK was imposing their will and MSU was just trying to hold them off, but eventually they weren't going to be able to. The point being, I think they played about as good as they are capable and had to face the realization that their best wasn't good enough. That is very frustrating.
February 24, 201214 yr Yes he did, what else would you consider saying "most unsefish, best defending group, and we just get it group he has seen". I know he didnt say they were the best team of all time, but the best ever UK team at doing those things, and that is what I said in the post. The team is great at those things no doubt, however its easy to only think in the moment, and I was just pointing out there has been other UK teams who have done the same thing but also took it to the Big Dance. We don't know how this team will do yet, so thats why I can't say they are the best UK team even at those things yet until we see how they do with those things in the Big Dance. That isn't the same thing as saying it is the best UK team of all time. He even mentioned the 96 team in his comparison and said that they might be more talented. You are putting words in his mouth and making assumptions. Mexitucky has been around long enough to compare more than just the 96 team. Favorite does not equal best, he clearly said favorite, not best. I'm not letting the current do anything to my past. My favorite team before this one was the '92 team. I loved the '93 team, the '95 team, and the '03 team. The past Calipari teams were fun to watch, but I never got a feel like I was watching something special. '92 was something special and so is this team. Now, of course, the 96-98 teams were exceptional, and better than the current team. However, they were expected to be great, were upper classmen led, and really the only surprise w/them was the loss to Arizona and the comback against Duke. Other than that, I felt pretty entitled w/ them as a fan, and for that, probably didn't appreciate them. Heck, the '96 team is the #2 team of all time according to some experts. I just really love this team b/c you have a group of kids that are led by the energy of two young guys that truly get it. It's an intangible feel thing, but this team is my favorite. Maybe it is the unexpected success and their ability to play good defense all of the time...I don't know. There, straight from the horse's mouth. He said favorite, not best.

However he has said that he believes they are the best UK team at doing those things he mentioned, that is what I am talking about. Maybe you should stay out of things, when you have no idea what your even responding too. I know he has not said they are the best team off all time, and never once did I say that he has.
February 24, 201214 yr There, straight from the horse's mouth. He said favorite, not best. Which proves what? As I said in my last post, maybe you need to stay out of things that you don't know what your talking. Didn't say that he did say they are the best at all time. How about you go back and read, and you would see that. I commented on how he said this is the best UK team he has seen at doing the things he has listed. Which would mean he thinks they are the best UK team at doing THE THINGS THAT HE LISTED!!! All I am saying is its hard to say that already, when those teams in the past also did those same things just as great, but may just be hard to remember that. Go back and read and you will see that each time I was talking about the things that he listed. Not about being the best overall team off all time.

This team was suppose to be great though, which is why they were #2 and why even during the final four last year. People kept saying this is nice, but I can't wait for the next years team. I also love all the things that you mentioned, because I love seeing those things too! I'm just stating why at this moment I can't rate them over many UK teams yet, because I saw many of these same things out of some other very good UK teams too. Which those teams that had these same things ended up making final fours and winning Titles! So I am hoping to see the same thing this year, but just waiting until it happens.

So there was no need for the whole just stay out of things comment. It has been a long rough day, and was not in the best of moods. However after thinking about it, I was wrong to say stuff like that. However it is to late for me to edit the post, so sorry about that.
