First impression...Yes, and I know these are computer ratings.

Grossly underrated includes Madison Central, Marshall County and Clark County.

Grossly overrated includes any team in this ranking who has 9 or more losses, especially Eastern and Fern Creek, because 12 or 13 losses is still 12 or 13 losses. You may play a tough schedule and I commend that, but you still have to win some of those games. Let me add, that one of those two may very well go on to win the State Championship, but for the sake of putting together a Top 25, they should not be ranked.

Agree.

Bowling Green ahead of Holy Cross still baffles me, computer ratings or not. What computer formula would have them ahead of HC when HC beat them twice and only has 2 losses on the year. I know, I know...these dont mean anything. LOL

Louisville teams hold the top three spots in Dave Cantrall’s boys’ basketball rating. Trinity (7th Region) has been No. 1 all season. Pleasure Ridge Park (6th Region) is No. 2, followed by Ballard (7th Region) at No. 3.

Four 11th Region teams are in the top dozen: No. 4 Scott County, No. 6 Madison Central, No. 8 Henry Clay and No. 12 Lexington Catholic.

If Cov Holy Cross played Manual and Eastern and Jtown, do they consistently beat them? I think a ranking should take many things into consideration. Multiple losses in the 7th are simply not the same as multiple losses elsewhere.

Since these are the most popular threads going I think some one should get a hold of Mr. Cantrall via email or something and have him come aboard and participate in some questioning.

Start looking at the games the past 2 weeks & see how accurate this is in terms of points won by. Not 100% but it's amazing how close this is.

***Anyone have the first week this came out & see which teams have improved the most over the course of the year?

I think I have found one of the rare pictures of Mr. Cantrall developing his rankings:

Also, what these computers probably don't take into consideration is how you play with players missing. We win three games last week without one of our two best players and we drop in the ratings. Yeah, I know, I know...strength of schedule, but winning those three in five days has to count for something.
