;) So OB is this one of those threads that you like to put out there from time to time for one of your coaching buddies.? I know you like to gauge things for them every so often.

Success this season could/will sway some kids at other schools to switch to Beechwood. It worked for Michael Romes, right?

Just want to congratulate the coach on the year he is having to date. Hope the success continues and some fans start to show up. Of course there are a couple who follow Beechwood who someone needs to settle down. Slender. balding guy who sits in the front row of their games is constantly barking out instructions and getting on officials needs to give it a rest. I've caught his act coaching in Junior High and He seems to think he is Bobby Knight. Oh well I guess every school has one or 2 like that.

Not really.

I like Miike and am happy for his success. Honestly I rarely see him.

Was there suppose to be a smiley or something there? The Romes kid didn't leave CCH for the success or lack there of at Beechwood. In think anyone in the loop knows why. From what I'm hearing there will be some more next year that jump ship. Maybe it is other teams success. ;)

Don't read anything into my post other than saying kids will see the opportunity for success that Michael got at Beechwood and think about switching.

Not knowing all the particulars of why Romes left CCH other then an opportunity to play more basketball I would be surprised to ever see to many kids up and leave CCH because they weren't playing enough basketball. I mean they go there because of long family traditions and for the excellent parochial school education don't they? Nobody chooses a school based upon basketball or any other sport do they?

Bingo.

Bingo.

:D:cool: What do I win..

Herald has done a great job in the 2+ years he has been there establishing consistency, demanding passion, and being a mentor. He also knows to run a break with the point guard in the middle of the floor, something his predecessor did not understand. He also gives players personal latitude to create within his schemes. Herald, Romes, and the other players all deserve credit for being 6-0.

The last thing I wanted to do was get into was a Mike Herald bashing contest and most of what I know will go unsaid on BGP.

Calling Mike Herald a MENTOR actually turns my stomach and surely the stomachs of more than a dozen or so people who have been involved with his program for the last 2+ years.

You obviously do not know or do not care about what happened last year.

Mike Herald made a lot of enemies at Beechwood with his treatment of some good "BEECHWOOD" kids something that could and may be keeping fans out of the stands.

"Mentor" maybe he has learned from his mistakes, but until he makes an effort to right his wrongs of the past, all his wins with Michael Romes will not make a difference.

Falcon, as far as your "bash" on Matt Bohmer you are out of your league here and proved your limited knowledge of basketball.

Every Xmas break, the past players would come to practice to see Matt Bohmer.

Oldbird, ask your buddy Mike how many player have come back to see him. I know the answer! A big "0".

"Demanding Passion" Please explain, that was Bohmer's down fall, he demanded passion. Obviously if you even read my previous post you must have dismissed it.

For every bash of Matt Bohmer you give I could give you 5 on Herald.

I don't want to get into comparing Herald with anyone and can honestly say I find some of things he does while coaching to be a little odd or out of the ordinary. Don't know the man on a personal basis other then to say hello to so I don't know about his relationships with his players but whether or not they come see you over Xmas break doesn't measure ones ability to coach. As for Matt Bohmer I think it's great that kids went by to see him while on break. Maybe he gave out good gifts or something but IMO he wasn't much of a coach at all.

You're missing the point, it's not coaching ability that brings kids back!

Just for the record I like Matt and am not sure that he was treated all that well.
