Absolute Joke that Walton-Verona is not in the Top 15 let alone the top 25.

I agree. They have beaten 6 of the above teams.

It is obviously an imperfect formula when you consider that for example: Anderson County is currently at #7, with wins over #22 CAL, #23 LCC, and #25 Lincoln County and Walton Verona is now out of the top 25 with wins over #8 Dunbar, #10 South Oldham, #12 Madison Central, #15 Clay County, #18 NCC, and #23 Monroe County. I remember last season when some of the folks on this board criticized WV for their "weak" schedule and finished the season playing in Bowling Green, LOL!!

To drop Walton Verona from No. 9 (tied) last week to not in the Top 25 says to me that there was either a mistake in inputting data or the formula has waaaay too much weight on margin of victory (or loss). To not have Walton Verona in there is absurd and gives as much reason to question the system as to question any "opinion" poll out there, IMHO.

I dont think any of the above are actually WV fans. Just stating a fact that the system is obviously flawed and WV is better than at least half of the teams in the ranking.

AMEN!!!! All these rankings mean absolutely NOTHING. There is way too much emphasis on polls that are based on formulas. Coaches know who the best teams areThese create a false sense of security or insecurity IMHO.

Whatever it is, it is not similar to the BCS. This system may be a "computer" ranking, but it's output is nothing close to the BCS. Have you ever seen the BCS take a team out of the top 25 that was 9th just one week before? Have you ever seen the BCS rank a team with rankings up and down like 12th down to 16th, then up to 9th, then unranked....with one loss in that same period? This system is much too sporadic, to be like the BCS.

 

When its all said and done, it is meaningless. It just makes for conversation....and for increasing website traffic for the LHL.

As I stated on the other thread, Walton should be in the top 10. They play a brutal schedule.
