Have played against Clemons from PRP, Mekay from Moore, and Stenzel from

GRC. I would vote Clemons, Stenzel, and then Mekay. I have seen Trinity, but it is hard to get a good read on Diuedonne- they have so many good players that other teams cannot focus on just one, two, or even three of their players defensively. He is good, no doubt, but it is hard to tell how good! The same thing could be said about Clemons and Mekay- they both have great teams. I was really impressed with Stenzel! Maybe not what most people think of as the best player in the state, but he is a great point guard that really makes their team go.

Thank you so much for your support of Bopper. I can see you see the same things in players that I do.....don't matter what jersery they wear. Just can appreciate the kids for themselves.

I don't see how anyone would watch Bopper play and not see: his ability, his basketball IQ, the way he leads as a point guard, his scoring, and his heart! Just to name a few. He is just a great basketball player!

Bopper has zero chance, no matter how far GRC goes. He plays hard and certainly is an asset to GRC but shouldn't be in any Mr. Basketball discussion.

If you look at GRC's schedule and then their record then he HAS to be in the discussion. Especially when you add the fact that no one except for Goldie thought GRC would be this successful at this point. Stenzel deserves consideration. Easily.

Agree 100%. He is the whole package. He does what is needed for his team to win. Last year it was get the ball to the big guys and handle the ball, didn't need him to score. This year a different role and he plays it to prefection. Not many this can be said about because it is all about scoring. He is soooo much more than just a scorer.

Agree. I knew what Bopper could do. He is such a team player, wants to win, and can play so many roles. This to me is what a MR. Basketball should be!!!!

Without Bopper this team has no where near the record they have. He would improve any team you put him on. What is your criterea for Mr. Basketball, or even what is considered by the selection comittee when choosing?

Excellent question. I'd say each voter has their own criteria.

This is by no means a knock on Bopper, he has had a good season and GRC has been very successful this year. In my opinion this team has something the past few did not, chemistry. I just don't think you can say Bopper is the best Senior basketball player in the state. Manning, Moore, Dieudone, and really even Rusty Troutman are all better candidates in my opinion.

I think you really have to look at his contribution to his team, the points he puts up, the competition he has faced, and his teams success as indicators of his skill. He is in my opinion at least a candidate. Past winners of Mr. Basketball have not exactly set the world on fire after high school. They were good high school players though. You should judge on body of work in high school.

Rusty Troutman is a junior.

Do you have all of his stats for the season?

Not here at home, but you know as well as I do that some things don't show up in the stats. The will to win, heart, leadership...need I say more.

I still don't see why Stenzel is not a legitimate candidate. Does the POY have to be a certain height or score the most points? The POY should be more than just a big man who scores a lot of points.

Some it is because of the jersery they wear....sad really.
