mcpapa
Final from The Igloo in Brooksville. This was a 4-point game at the half but the Polar Bears missed too many from the charity stripe to keep it a real close game later on. Both teams are what I would call "scrappy", decent quickness and a lot of hustle without a lot of size. My evening was highlighted by the company of none other than Randy Parker. Although he leans somewhat to the conservative side of the ledger, even this gross character flaw didn't diminish what was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Hopefully my utter lack of basketball acumen wasn't too apparent. Spent an great hour and a half talking about Bracken County sports, mutual friends, and the merits of the Red Ryder carbine-action two hundred shot range model BB gun. While it's only one game that I've seen of Grant County, I was impressed with their effort & intensity. They're very effective trapping in the halfcourt & play much bigger than they actually are. Got a couple of really nice players in #13 & #23. Thought Bracken played fairly well too. As you stated, free throws were a killer at the close of the 3rd quarter & much of the 4th. I believe 10 missed free throws in the 2nd half, with one of those being a bonus situation. The misses came at a crucial moment when the Polar Bears were making a nice run. Turnovers were costly for the Bears as well. And I too enjoyed the conversation with my raging liberal friend, mcpapa. The transparent tarts were tremendous, BTW. Appreciate the generosity & conversation! Congrats to Grant County on the win!

You would have enjoyed the conversation. As we talked all things basketball, I told him about the cheer Brossart's student section directed toward the Harrison County student section a few years back in the regional tournament.

BGCat
"WORST" officiating crew I have seen in my entire life! Phantom fouls and kids getting knocked to the floor no calls. A foul is a foul, you wear the striped shirt to officiate a basketball game not just run up and down the floor. Bracken Co. should stop payment on their checks! gchoops3
An absolute horribly called game. The KHSAA should be ashamed of themselves for letting 3 officials of that caliber ever call any game, let alone a high school varsity game! Absolutely pathetic! I'm surprise that only one kid got hurt tonight. Completely out of hand!!!!!!!!
All Blue
Thats about as good as it gets, I have not seen a good called game all year. Big waste of money for schools to pay a 3 man crew when you get just as good a called game from 2. Did you see the JV game, now them two were bad. mcpapa
Hopefully #3 for Grant County is okay. Looked like he tweaked a knee late in the game.

I felt like it was bad on both sides, with Grant probably getting the worst end of things. #3 was carried off the floor after the game was over. Any GC folks have an update on his condition? Going to the Dr. today. Will probably schedule an MRI but I would say it is ligament damage. More then likely his senior year is over.
