CovCath defeats Lexington Lafayette in the Toyota Classic.

Big win for the Colonels and this win gets the team back on track.

Not sure about the Generals? Well they beat LexCath at LexCath beat Lex Christian had Dixie down by 16 only to lose on a last second shot.

CovCath shot an amazing 22/23 from the charity line and with going 8/8 on Friday they hit on 30 of 31 through the two games. BTW the Generals were only 9/23 from the charity line!

Amazing things happen when you make free throws.

Good to see the Colonels get back on track with a couple of back to back victories at the Classic :thumb:

Shows strong mental attitude to bounce back after taking the beating that they did from Scott County.

Also a big WOW! with their amazing stats from the charity stripe!

Good win by CCH. But most of the time they play 4 guards and leave the power players sitting the bench. If that doesn't change, they won't go far in the ninth region.

Cov Cath is an interesting team that matches up really strong against some teams and not so strong against others. The match up against Holy Cross is going to be interesting. In my opinion the only really important game left in the season is the first round of District play. All else is simply preparation for that game.

Nice win over Lafayette, facing that extremely tough competition in the Toyota Classic has to be a plus.

They only have one "power" player and that's Tobler. Haden is a nice player but he's more finesse than power.

How is it working? Seems they are doing ok. Also, IMO they need to play their strengths.

BTW - Congrats to the Colonels on a good win, which I think was really needed.

Disagree. 4 straight losses (Holmes, NCC, Colerain and Scott County) with the 4 guard set. It's not working and it's not going to work in the district and regional tournaments. Just Ok works against Beechwood and Highlands, but ok is not going to win the district or the region. They have the strength to win the region.

Prior to the injury, Haden was leading the team in rebounds and blocks. Cleves can also get it done down low.

Nice win against an up and down Lafayette team.

Free Throws win ballgames folks.

Cleve's strength is not the inside. Ryan should be leading the team in those stats with his size, but again, I do not think this team's strength is inside. They need to utilize the inside play some to free up the guards. Tobler and possibly Hayden can help with this. As far as their losses - did you really think they would beat Scott County??

Wrong again. Tobler alone hasn't free things up for the guards. He's not a dominant inside player and teams don't drop back defenders to cover him. IMO the 4 guard, 1 center set isn't working. Let's leave it at that. And yes, this team can beat anybody, including Scott County.
