Wrong again. Tobler alone hasn't free things up for the guards. He's not a dominant inside player and teams don't drop back defenders to cover him. IMO the 4 guard, 1 center set isn't working. Let's leave it at that. And yes, this team can beat anybody, including Scott County.

CovCath at full strength NEVER beats Scott County at full strength this year.

As for Tobler not being a dominant inside player that teams have to account for, which big for CovCath is? Do you think anyone would gameplan around Hayden or Cleves in the low post?

Tomahawk you are mistaken if you think Tobler hasn't become a force down low for CovCath. I'm also pretty sure a guy with Coach Ruthsatz resume may be a better judge of talent than you. I may be going out on a limb There though. LOL

Nice win for the Colonels. Congrats and good luck in the district tournament.

Correct. Sometimes a team is just always going to beat you. This is one of those times.

Maybe it's semantics but "force" is a bit much. He's done a great job at being big and hitting the boards. He is finishing well when he gets a good look. He has exceeded everyone's expectations.

I just can't go "force" as there might be two players who are a "force" in the post and that's Campbell and McDonald.

It is obvious that you do not agree with me, that this team's best players are their guards. Who do you think are? Do you think Hayden, Tobler or Cleve's can play the rold that Thelen did last year? I think Tobler can continue to develop into a strong inside presence. Hayden and Cleve's may be able to help some, but none can not compete against the bigs in the region this year such as Knox, Campbell and McDonald - IMO. I think Coach R, who obviously is a very good coach, has determined that the best chance they have to beat the team's in the region is to play the style of game he is playing. USe their quickness, passing and ability to hit the outside shots. With the ability of Cleve's to hit the outside shot, I again suspect that he is doing exactly what Coach wants him to do.

Agreed on both accounts. The Colonels do not have anyone that opposing teams need to gameplan around, on the inside this year. Coach is playing his best hand IMO.

. Tobler is a fine post player. However, he needs help to handle teams with size. Coach Ruthsatz isn't effectively utilizing some highly productive forwards. The team and Tobler are more productive when one or more of those forwards are on the floor. By the way, those forwards have no problem running the floor and passing effectively. Numbers don't lie. This team simply hasn't been productive using the 4 guard set.

My guess is there will be situations where you see both Tobler and Haden on the court.

IMO most coaches are still working on their post-season rotation. Haden will be in it.
