January 17, 201214 yr Looking for somewhere within a 2-3 hour drive of the Cincinnati area to take the girlfriend for her birthday the 1st weekend of March. Any suggestions?
January 17, 201214 yr Gatlinburg isn't a bad little tourist destination. It will be warmer that direction in March than any other form Cincinnatti.

January 17, 201214 yr First thought was Gatlinburg, love that place. Go to one of the Wolf Creek Lodges. They have that waterpark and hotel combined. I've never been to one, but my roommate took his girl not to long ago and they seemed to have a great time.

Tons of stuff to do and unlike the other cities in the area she would probably consider it "special"...

January 17, 201214 yr Not sure what she is into but Hocking Hills is pretty close. I was also going to say Gatlinburg but I knew you just went. "The Hottub Capital of the World" I went once and it was cool, but not much other than hiking, cabins, and hot tubs.
January 17, 201214 yr Author We went to Nashville in September and loved it....She's been wanting to go back literally every weekend since. :lol: I'm thinking that may be the spot. Would love to go to Chicago, but I'm not sure she's a huge fan of it after mentioning it to her casually. :lol:
January 17, 201214 yr A friend and I went to Chicago on business bout 15 yrs ago. Stayed at an Embassy Suites in Lombard. Got a cabby to take us in to the city. Think it cost us $50. He gave us a small tour then dropped us off at Sears Tower. Went up and had two Miller Lites for $15 and enjoyed the view. Came down he was waiting on us. He asked us if we liked steak and he suggested Harry Carey's. As we headed that way he looked at me and said you look like a CCR guy. Which I said I was. He said, "I'll make you a deal. For $150 I'll wait on you guys to have dinner than I have a buddy that works at Hard Rock. John Fogerty's in concert upstairs and I'll get you all in." "When you're finished here's my number and I'll pick you up. It was a deal and a fantastic night. We both gave him a $100 when as we crawled back to the room. Needless to say the next day of training we were worthless :lol:
