January 6, 201214 yr Author What about Donnie Tendall? I can't speak for D.T., but I can't imagine he'd make somewhat of a lateral move at this point.
January 6, 201214 yr Any chance they give Harper a shot to keep the job longer than just finishing the season. All he has ever done is win every job he's had. KWC basketball hasn't been the same since he left.

KWC basketball hasn't been the same since he left. They are ranked No. 4 in the nation right now. Also, someone posted on Twitter that KWC was on 3 years probation because Harper used ineligible players. Anyone know anything about that?

Anyone know anything about that? They are doing ok. But it's just not the same. The Harper / Pearl matchups were epic. Just not near as much excitment at the Sportscenter these days.

January 6, 201214 yr Id like to see Bellarmine Coach Scott Davenport get a shot. Led them to the division 11 national title last year. He can out coach them all and has worked under both Denny Crum and Rick Pitino. He would probably stay a while also. Western always goes after hot assistants and if they are good they leave in two years and if they are bad they fire them. Probably a little late in life for Scotty to be house-hunting. I don't see him leaving the Louisville area.

Anyone know anything about that? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/2006-07-14-kentucky-wesleyan-probation_x.htm The probation wasn't really Harper's fault. It had more to do with the schools compliance officers clearing players when they were not actually eligible. The probation was due to problems with 45 athletes and spanned 8 different sports teams from 1998 to 2005. Harper was not named in the report.
January 6, 201214 yr Author "Lateral move?" Methinks you have an inflated opinion of your alma mater's station in the college hoops world. I don't have an inflated opinion of anything. I understand that WKU is considered to be a better program than Morehead State.

January 6, 201214 yr Here's my article on some of the names being tossed around as McDonald's replacement: http://bit.ly/AfJR0g Thoughts? WKU has done well in the past by hiring young guys that want to move on. Richard Pitino would be one I think they would think about. John Pelphry I think would be one to look at as well. He surely wants to prove he can be a head coach. Big Fan of Scotty D. he would work his rear off to be the best. He also would want to be there long term. Felton I dont think would want to come back. Tim Fuller I wouldnt take him. He hardly has any coaching experience.
January 7, 201214 yr Probably a little late in life for Scotty to be house-hunting. I don't see him leaving the Louisville area. Probably true but I would think his kids are grown. Coach Davenport is a worker and great people person. All you have to do is go and watch Bellarmine play and look in the stands and see who attends games: Jerry Jones, Denny Crum, Darrell Griffith, Wade Houston. He's built excitement there and could do it at Western. I would just like to see him considered. Every other coach mentioned except Harper will not stay long. Richard pitino has never been a head coach at any level.
