December 20, 201114 yr There will be lots of incidents. 9/11 has consequences. If a pilot believes (even if it is merely a gut belief) that a person is a terror suspect, I would rather him remove the men from the plane and pay damages for the discrimination than take them on the plane. Police officers do this all the time; rather than risk a crime, a police officer will make an arrest based upon prejudicial views, and accept dismissal of the case later. It is what it is. That is just wrong. The officer should have a stronger cause for arrest than merely based upon a prejudicial view.
December 20, 201114 yr On the otherhand, suing allows the matter to establish precedence in case of future incidents...and there will be (and have been) other incidents. Agreed. However those cases will be handled accordingly in the court of law regardless if they sued or not. More than likely in the favor of the victim.
December 20, 201114 yr That is just wrong. The officer should have a stronger cause for arrest than merely based upon a prejudicial view. Which is of course why the case gets dismissed. All of us have prejudices.

December 20, 201114 yr Author It absolutely boggles my mind that people are on here defending these actions and think it's okay. I guess I give society too much credit sometimes. :ohbrother:

December 20, 201114 yr No. Plaintiffs in race discrimination cases prevail less than 25% of the time. Ouch. Can you provide a link and time-line for that? I'm not disagreeing, it helps me sleep at night when I see the evidence.
December 20, 201114 yr It absolutely boggles my mind that people are on here defending these actions and think it's okay. I guess I give society too much credit sometimes. :ohbrother: Are you refering to me? What the pilot did is completely wrong. I haven't defended his actions at all, I was only throwing in a thought that could possible benefit them more. I am on their side. That is if you were referencing me.
December 20, 201114 yr Author Sorry. You're entitled to your own beliefs. Just so we're clear though....You're scheduled to fly for business and after being subjected to a random luggage and person search by the TSA agents, being asked for identification multiple times and boarded the plane, you'd be perfectly fine with the pilot singling you out and refusing to allow you to fly simply because of your appearance? You'd have no issues at all?

December 20, 201114 yr ^It's against the law to discriminate based on one's race, nationality, gender, etc. Its against the law to have open prayer on public property, but it is done at the Pres Innaguration I am not a bigot thank you, hope you have a Merry Christmas
December 20, 201114 yr If they win their racial discrimination lawsuit, maybe they can use it for teaching tolerance for airlines and pilots who are scared of Muslims.
December 20, 201114 yr Its against the law to have open prayer on public property, but it is done at the Pres Innaguration I am not a bigot thank you, hope you have a Merry Christmas That is 100% incorrect and has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread.
December 20, 201114 yr That is 100% incorrect and has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread. I though the law was seperate church and state, seems like a lot of prayers at football games get cancelled due to the law. But yet done at Innaguration.

I guess I give society too much credit sometimes. :ohbrother:I'm not defending a soul here, but you're awfully quick to pass judgement on the pilot. Unless there's something I didn't read, I never heard his side. You automatically castrate him without hearing his side.
