Lexington Basketball

Featured Replies

Are there any members in here from Lexington? I rarely see comments about any of the Lexington teams or players.......

There are very few of us.... I don't see as many Basketball games as I would like. I do see a lot of baseball and football.

Bluegrass preps is primarily 9th and 10th Region posters (Especially Northern Kentucky), followed by posters in the 12th Region, then Louisville posters (mostly Trinity.) There are very few from Lexington.

If you've been to a public school game in Lexington lately... they are not generally well attended unless they are playing another city school.

The Herald Leader ran a good pre-season preview on the top talent in Lexington. Here are some names of players and teams that you might want to look out for in the area.

Mike Smith- Dunbar

Trey Grundy- Henry Clay

Jordan Greene- Henry Clay

Dwayne Morton- Bryan Station

Jack Whitman- Lex Cath

Braxton McFarland- Tates Creek

Jackson Davis- Lafayette

Tamron Manning- Scott Co

Isiah Ivey- Scott Co

Wow. Really? If I lived in Lexington my wife would be mad during basketball season. Especially right now. Lots of talent in Lex right now.

When I first joined BGP in 2004 there were numerous active members from southeast Kentucky, but it's rare to see many posts from there anymore.

Anyone watched the point guard for LCA? Name is Tyler Harville. Averages 18 pts a game this year (junior). Averaged almost 13 last year as a sophmore. Unlimited range. Great free throw shooter. Shot over 90% last year at the line (at one point made 38 in a row) and has made 21-24 this year thru first 5 games. Went head to head the other night against Mike Smith of Dunbar. Tyler had 24 points (6-7 from three point range), twelve in the fourth quarter to help them win from behind. Great guard combo with Taylor Barnette who had 25 points in that game.

There seemed to be more 11th region posters on 3 or 4 years ago. Maybe like myself they have moved on to follow college a bit more. I try to keep up with scores and stats. The attendance in Lexington is very poor especially considering the product which is perenially some of the best teams in the state.

You hit the nail on the head; sounds like me. Daughter a senior in college, she doesn't know anyone on the current HS team. And your last sentence is spot on.
