After Newport goes down to Pendleton County and pulls off the upset, everyone will start giving the Newport Wildcats some respect. Of course, you have to earn it, to get it! It started the other night when they beat the Breds!!!

Athletically the Wildcats may be better but the County boys have played a very tough schedule and have State Tournament experience. Add in the fact that they are playing at home. I say PC by 22 in a route. Elrod and Mains are great guards, the Belcher kid is playing like a Belcher, Elliot is a HAAS and the Davis kid is hitting big shots because most teams are keying on the other 4. I am from NKY so I will be rooting for the Cats.....84-62 final prediction.

How do you know that PC and the coaches are overlooking Newport? I'm sure they have no idea what Newport will be like except for a team coming off a big win against a top 9th region team?

Are all Newport fans forgetting you got beat by double digits just last week on your home floor by Holy Cross?

Criticize me all you want but until HHS beats Holmes, I still don't think that one team is that much better.If Highlands had blown CCH out it would have been a different story. Sure HHS won the game, but a game between these two teams can go either way on any given day. If the player for HHS (sorry I'm not familiar with names) had missed the game winning shot and CCH had taken the ball down and scored and won, then what would people be saying? CCH had the lead for a while and could have won but they let down a little bit and Highlands came back. So as of right now I still think CCH and HHS are tied for second. And if CCH is third and they beat Holmes by 2 then what happens? People would say they are better than Highlands even tho Highlands won the head to head. So IMHO these two powerhouses are still tied.

Agreed. But that is the easy part. After that everything gets difficult

with cch at holmes on 1/25 and holmes visiting highlands on 2/7 that should clear up alot of 1,2,3 that will be a true test to holmes playing tose two teams that close together. Coach Willie is also pushing his boys for the tourney with a game against Pendleton on 2/18, however holmes has already played the schedule of a warrior time will tell and i can't to see the big outcome
