That match-up is going to be a great Regional barometer, I can't wait! Where is the game going to played at??

Well it looks like Friday nights game (1/6) between the Colonels and Bluebirds, should really be a barnburner. I look for Highlands to pull this one out, they are just to physical and with Cov Cath being banged up a little (Tierney), that probably will be a big factor in the outcome.

It looks like that Holmes is sill number one, and the Bluebirds will have to go to the number two spot, since they beat Cov Cath and New Cath.

You cannot be serious with Beechwood over not only CCH but NCC as well.

Holmes until someone beats them. Say alot when they play poorly and still win big.

1. Holmes- simply because they havent been beat by a 9th region team yet.

2. Highlands- They just won 3 Regional type games this week with strong physical Defense and great guard play.

3. CovCath- very experienced, play tough schedule and lost a naibiter to HHS.

4. Scott- coming together with a strong big man and decent guards. (sleeper)

5. NCC- good guards, big man down low in Keirnan and Detzel gets the best out of his players.

 

My prediction is that if Highlands can get to the Regional tournament and get a good draw they will meet Holmes in the final and if they can turn that game into a Halfcourt affair they will win. Vories has played against top guards his whole career at High school and AAU level and bigger, stronger teams seem to be a matchup nightmare for Holmes. However, with that said, if HHS allows them to set the tempo it could be lights out. Holmes has several offensive weapons and very athletic.

HC might have got it handed to them by Holmes, but they still beat Newport last week. Until Beechwood beats HC they are still above them.

 

No way right now NCC and HC still aren't top 5.

They are playing the best, very physical basketball, great passing on offense, strong man to man defense and Vories is the playmaker. The schedule they have remaining will prepare them for the 9th Region tournament. Holmes is a scary team but I think they could implode at any time and team ball will prevail if they they meet HHS in the Tourney.

 

Cov Cath isnt going away, a very well coached team with Jacobs as a dead eye. I cant think of a good 3 team right now.... NCC looks to be fading away, Dixie has good shooters who are disciplined and smart, Holy Cross could surprise some people by Tournament time.

I would agree with this top 5 at least for now.

After Newport goes down to Pendleton County and pulls off the upset, everyone will start giving the Newport Wildcats some respect. Of course, you have to earn it, to get it! It started the other night when they beat the Breds!!!

IF, and its a big "if", Newport beats PC at PC, they will definitely have the respect of NKY. You'll pardon me if I'm a "I'll believe it when I see it" guy.
