Pretty good young five right there (outside of Caron Butler) with guys like Mo Williams and Randy Foye being able to come off the bench for the back court. If they can muster up a little more post depth they could seriosuly be a major threat, especially as Griffin and Jordan fill their potential.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also NBA has to love this if it gets done. They say they nixed the originial trade with the Lakers because of wanting young assets, well a 1st round 2012 pick, Eric Bledsoe, and Al-Faroq Aminu give you that but is it better than getting Odom, Martin, Scola, and Dragic? I don't think so. Still yet, the league would be justified for including a deal that has young prospects as a part of it. Frankly speaking it may not be that bad for the Hornets in this deal, especially considering they would likely lose Paul for nothing in return anyway. This way the Hornets could at least have a young nucleus and what should be two high draft picks (likely their own) and another 1st round pick (that is an unprotected pick of the T'Wolves) to build on. That's two likely lottery picks in a loaded draft. Looking to this year they could start a line up of Bledsoe at point, Ariza at 3, Okafor potentially moving to 4, and Kaman at the 5 with whoever comes out of camp looking the best starting at 2. Have a chance at a future starter on the wing in Aminu coming off the bench. Still wouldn't be a drastically horrible team, like Nets bad lasy year or anything. Could have been a lot better with David West still in the fold but still not horrible with the trade, especially with the upside potential going forward.

Hornets want Bledsoe in the CP3 deal but the Clips don't want to give up both Gordon and Bledsoe.

Gordon and Kaman stay hurt. Neither have played a full season. Neither have won anything either. Aminu is still unproven as well. Top 5 pick is unproven also. Especially if you pick the wrong person. The Lakers giving up the 2nd best center in the league and a top 6th man who would start on 99% of the teams in the NBA is much better than the Clips offer, IMO.

Add in the fact that the Hornets would be getting Kevin Martin and Luis Scola then it gets ridiculous what the Hornets are getting now.

Agreed. The Clips have put together a good young core and likely have, at worst, a top 10 pick next year to add to it. They would be willing to give it all up for one guy who isn't guaranteed past this season. But this is the Clippers we are talking about here...
