December 10, 201114 yr Author laugh all you want folks.....I'll enjoy him while he's here.....which I think will be quite awhile. Funny....I didn't know people could be Jokers....and Jealous.
December 10, 201114 yr Insert Petrino for Strong in this thread and we have an exact one from about five years ago.
December 10, 201114 yr I don't think Cal is going anywhere. On a side note, please don't ever compare Strong and Cal. You're right, neither has won anything, but the separation in class is monumental. You are right, please don't compare them, Cal has won WAY more.
December 10, 201114 yr Author Insert Petrino for Strong in this thread and we have an exact one from about five years ago.Petrino was always looking around. Always. The comparison is apples and pianos. Besides, Krag's wasn't looking around
December 10, 201114 yr By him saying that he is staying throws up the red flag but I honestly believe that he will be at UL for the 2012 season. Beyond that would be hard to say, depending on what jobs may come availible. I would think that U.L. fans would have learned that a coach saying "I am staying" or something to that effect would have learned when practically all Card fans were claiming that Petrino loved U.L. and would not leave. I will say one thing though, Strong does seem to have alot more class than Petrino, the used car salesman. U.L. fans thought that he was bthe 2nd coming, instead he was the 1st leaving and most outside of Louisville knew it. Strong seems to be a stand up guy but it is dreaming for anyone to think that he absolutely would not leave U.L. for a better job at some point.
December 10, 201114 yr Author ^ I didn't say that. He was on A & M's short list.....they fielded a lot of calls about him. He said no. Florida, FSU, and Miami seem to be shored up for the next few years. That leaves, IMO, USC, as the spot. If the ole ball coach steps down in the next 3-4 years, that's the job that scares me. I really can't see another one, in the next 4 years. If we, as fans, get 6-7 years from Strong, that'll be great. My gut says he stays longer. If he doesn't I can live with it, as long as Jurich stays.
December 10, 201114 yr laugh all you want folks.....I'll enjoy him while he's here.....which I think will be quite awhile. Funny....I didn't know people could be Jokers....and Jealous. Trust me RP, there is absolutely no jealousy here. I personally don't give a rats patoot if he stays or goes. I really don't. One thing though......I realize that Strong has much more credibility than Petrino (Bernie Madof has as much credibility than Petrino and posibly better liked ) but just remember that alot of U.L. fans were screaming when alot of people on here were telling U.L.\bgp fans that Petrino was as good as gone. I'm just sayin'. I will say that you are correct and you should "enjoy him while he's here", Strong is an excellent coach :thumb:. As for quite a while, depends on what jobs come open and when, especially in the SEC or possibly Big 12, maybe Big 10., jmo. Oh, and I am not suggesting U.K. could lure Strong in, that would b nice but...... Facts are untill the adminisration decides to commit to a winning football program and spends the $$ U.K. will never be a threat in the SEC. I would love to have him but Charlie Strong would not come to U.K. for the same reasons I just stated.
December 11, 201114 yr ^ Sorry, but no. Multiple BCS WINS.....maybe a Top 3 finish....it's all coming. Get on the train, or get run over. The Big East is likely to lose their BCS status, so how is he going to get these multiple BCS wins?
December 11, 201114 yr Author The Big East is likely to lose their BCS status, so how is he going to get these multiple BCS wins?1st - nothing changes for the next two seasons. 2 - they will likely be ranked next season. If they can work just a little more magic from this season (considering losses, multiple injuries, and youth), that's not far fetched at all.....they can win a BCS game. If they follow it strongly the next year....if AQ's still exist, the Big East won't be losing theirs.
December 11, 201114 yr Wouldn't his "work be done" once he wins his first BCS bowl? Why wouldn't he leave then?
December 14, 201114 yr Tubby's a bad example. UK fans had been calling for his head for the longest time. He was loyal. He didn't receive the same in return. I'd have done the same as he.Rockmom, I agree with you on this. I am happy with Calapri and all but was a Tubby Smith supporter nd still am. No one imo coukl understand the abuse, critisizm he took whl he was at UK along with hi wife and family, God only knows what they have heard and had to ignore. I now pull for Minnesota in every game unless we (UK) should play them. I was not tring to bring iot all up again, I just noticed your post and agreed. Allof that is over and UK along wth the OTS family are happy now.
