If Alabama wins a close game, why wouldn't there be a split? LSU's loss on a neutral field would be better than the Tide's loss at home.

You have to ask the BCS, the NCAA uses them and they got away from the split quite a while ago. In 1973 we were voted #1 in the AP/UPI and then we played the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. We lost by 2 points but still had the split. We should have got nothing, but it counts in our 13. It now just one that really counts, but the AP had us at #2 and OSU 3. :idunno:

Oklahoma State gets penalized because they're focus was with the basketball coaches who had lost their lives the night before, and not on a meaningless football game. If Alabama wins, do we get a 3rd game? I mean no way could you give either team the championship if they split the series.

 

To me it's simple, you shouldn't get to play for a title if you're not good enough to win your home games. Simple as that.

The championship game is to decide who is the champion. At this point the previous game has nothing to do with it and it shouldn't.

Because every conference voted for the current system to decide the champion. They can't now go back and claim the AP title as legit.

The major thing that seperates Bama and LSU is the Tigers have the playmakers. Guys like Claiborne and Honey Badger are a guarantee for a big play almost every game it seems. Bama doesn't have anything like that, and they'll be the difference IMO.

Simple to when a team you want is ranked 107 in team defense, lost to Iowa State after leading 24-7 in the 3rd. Iowa State margin of point in their losses 20.7, this was a bad loss.

 

I hate they lost people in the plane Crash and maybe should have waited a few days to play, but our long snapper lost a girlfriend, she actually was taken out of his arms, and the tornado is still in our minds. It was 6-6 at the end. We out rushed/passed them and had a bad call at their one. Facts are there. Our kids deciated the season to the folks of Alabama that had 57 lose their lives.

 

42 coaches voted 42-17 for Bama, Harris/AP/Sagarin/Wolfe/BCS says Bama. They got it right.

Saben did his part, he voted Oklahoma State #4 in the coaches poll!

And all the Big 12 coaches had Bama 3rd, 57 had Bama 2nd and 17 3rd. Coach Saban gets a bonus.

Trent is a stud, but he's not the type of guy, IMO, who completely changes the game in a blink of an eye. The only two I see are both in the LSU secondary.

Please, enough with the "bad call" stuff, there are plenty of terrible calls in every single game that's played. Make plays and it doesn't matter. LSU made the plays, Bama didn't. No more excuses. Will that bad call still be the reason for LSU winning by a bigger margin in the rematch?

7-8 NFL picks, Several national awards for Mark Barron Don'te Hightower. We are just fine with who we have #1 defense in all rankings. Honey Comb missed a game with some others. Experts said that was what hurt him for any awards this year, lets hope he can control things and have a great season next year too.

Pretty good chance Honey Badger is going to NYC this weekend...You're right, Bama has a ton of studs on defense too, but how many have the big play ability that Mathieu and Claiborne have? Zero.

It is what it is, the bad call is there, sorry but it was important to us. Let it be written, let it be done. Maybe LSU will win. I have said let Bama and OSU play on the 13th/14th and the winner moves on. Janauary 9th is still several weeks away. I'm not crazy about the system, I have always been a fair person, but if Bama played Iowa State, wonder how that game would turn out? Be fair too.

While I agree you should win your home games, I would still rate a 3 point loss at home in OT to the #1 team in the country (and ultimately still #1 and only undefeated team left) above a loss on the road in 2OT to a 6-6 team that won only two other games in their conference, neither of which won another game after losing to Iowa State. And I would rate that as better significantly.
