Dixie survives...best way to describe the game. Conner is a scrappy bunch and Huff is one tough kid. Really like his game. He and Barker form a nice 1-2 combo.

 

Barker's last shot hit off the backboard, hit the front rim and then bounced out.

 

After seeing Dixie tonight, this region is wide open.

Really fun game to watch.

Jordan Hassel was the difference in the game. Scored well and had a huge steal with about a minute left.

I wouldn't go that far. In the first game last year they only beat conner by 3 or so. They played hard defensively and once they come together on offensive they will be scary.

I think their lack of size and depth at that position will hurt them. I am very surprised at this score. Dixie has had their entire team for atleast 3.5 weeks preparing. I expected atleast a 10 -15 point win.

Dixie has a solid starting 5 but after that there's a considerable drop off other than wigger. A team with more athleticism will give Dixie problems. Conner killed Dixie on the boards.

 

Dixie is legit top 3 in the region but their lack of depth will cause them to lose atleast 2 games in the region. Quote me on that and get back to me in Feb.

I told the person I was with the same thing. Conner plays extremely hard. Being a neutral observer It's hard not to like their team. I was very impressed with Huff and Barker. The pg #23 (Price?) Was also impressive as well. I think Conner will be better than some think.

I agree, without Pike Dixie will have rebounding issues. It was a very entertaining game, although at times I thought I was at a football game as physical has both teams were. Esspecially in the 3rd quarter when Dixie got hit with 2 technicals. If I were the Conner coach when those kids get off the bus in Hebron they would be going directly in the gym and shooting foul shots till their arms fall off. They had to miss at least 15 or more. Did you happen to notice all the coaching staffs that were scouting tonight, I saw.....Beechwood, Boone, Cooper, Ryle, Highlands, NewCath......anyone else?

Birds play Dixie on Dec 13th and the Cougars later in the year.
