November 23, 201114 yr Thought it would be a good idea to put the rumors floating about all the D1 jobs in this thread. I'll go with Ole Miss first, right now everyone is picking sides between Tony Dungy and Mike Leach. I've heard Dungy is a done deal, but Leach seems to be the one most fans want. For what it's worth I don't believe the Dungy is a done deal, though with Archie Manning leading the search, I do think Dungy could be a possibility. Arizona has filled their vacant with Rich Rod too.

November 23, 201114 yr Author Hugh Freeze and Mark Hudspeth are both names you could hear for mid level job openings like UK and Ole Miss as well. Both have done very well at Sun Belt schools this year.
November 23, 201114 yr Al Golden has been connected to the Penn State job. And, of course, Urban Meyer has been connected to Ohio St. I think Penn State should back the truck up to Chris Peterson at Boise St. I would be more surprised to see Meyer not go to OSU than the other way around.

I've heard in the past about Peterson that he has a very ill child that will keep him at Boise. The child is roughly 10 to 12 years old really likes his friends and his doctors. Because of the child's illness Peterson has no desire to leave Boise.

This is the case and I do not think he will leave Boise for Happy Valley, but I would make him tell me no thank you after I offered him 5 years and $20 million.

If Archie Manning wasn't personally hiring our new coach I would say no way as well, but considering how close Peyton and Dungy are Peyton's dad leading the search makes this seem at least possible to me.
November 24, 201114 yr With Bubba Cunningham being the new AD at UNC, there have been rumors that he has been in contact with his Notre Dame classmate and good friend Skip Holtz about the HC positon there. Holtz has denied the rumor, said he likes where he is and is concentrating on completing this season successfully, but didn't specifically rule out any possibilities.
November 24, 201114 yr His dad lives an hour away and his wife's family is down there. He was asked about some jobs last year and said no, so I think for now he stays put.
