Deepening low pressure will move from southeast Missouri to northeast Indiana on Tuesday. As it does so it will pull a warm front through southern Indiana in the morning, and then sweep a cold front through Indiana and Kentucky in the evening.

 

 

During the morning hours a large area of showers with embedded thunderstorms is expected to be moving through southern Indiana. Heavy rains will be possible, with many folks receiving half an inch to an inch between breakfast and lunch in the Hoosier State. Showers and storms will be more widely scattered in Kentucky. Severe weather is not expected with this morning activity.

Not looking forward to my commute tomorrow. Today was bad enough...both ways. In no particular order, but paired up any random way you can imagine: Rain, fog, amish buggies, deer and random cows that got out.

As of now it looks like the severe weather is not expected until afternoon or early evening. The morning showers are from a warm front that will come through in the morning. The severe weather is expected with the cold front that will come through early afternoon to early evening.

NWO...Buddy...Could you call off the severe weather. I have class and I'll be walking to and fro. Not to mention, I have a Freindsgiving dinner tomorrow night, and don't want to dampen the mood. Thanks!

Sorry looks like we are going to get some severe storms. I just saw that the spotter activation notice has been issued. I'm a spotter with the National Weather Service. What I just read says it looks like things might start around 11 am.

 

 

THIS AFTERNOON A SQUALL LINE IS EXPECTED TO FORM AND SWEEP ACROSS CENTRAL KENTUCKY. THE BEST TIMING FOR SEVERE WEATHER LOOKS TO BE FROM AROUND 11AM OR NOON FROM HARTFORD TO RUSSELLVILLE...TO 7 OR 8 PM FOR THE LINE TO EXIT THE BLUE GRASS IN THE CARLISLE AREA. THE MOST LIKELY AREA FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE ALONG AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM HARTFORD TO TAYLORSVILLE TO CYNTHIANA. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE GUSTY WINDS ALTHOUGH ISOLATED TORNADOES AND LARGE HAIL WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

The rain and fog coming up through southern Indiana were crazy ridiculous. I heard it's supposed to be worse this evening on the way home. Not looking forward to it at all. On the bright side....today is my day to be the car-rider, not driver.

This afternoon and this evening is when we are supposed to have the really bad weather. So far no Mesoscale Discussions have been issued for our areas. When and if one is issued that is when to really start watching the weather. They are usually issued anywhere from two to four hours before a watch is issued.
