November 16, 201114 yr Should she of gotten more than the person with the 3 million dollar fraud scheme? No. Its a fallacy to blame the drug program for this.
November 16, 201114 yr Four felony drug convictions ?? She should not even be in charge of her children.. Who took care of the kids while she was in jail?
November 16, 201114 yr No when compared to the big fraud but yes when compared to her skating on all the former drug charges.
November 16, 201114 yr Author No when compared to the big fraud but yes when compared to her skating on all the former drug charges. I don't think it said she skated on the other charges. I may have to re-read but I think she paid her dues.
November 16, 201114 yr Author Four felony drug convictions ?? She should not even be in charge of her children.. Who took care of the kids while she was in jail? Who is going to take care of the Fraudulent ones kids? Should everyone who goes to jail lose their children, and is it for sure that she had kids when she was in the addiction cycle?
November 16, 201114 yr If she broke into her neighbors house and stole $4300 would anyone think she got too harsh of a penalty?
November 16, 201114 yr If she broke into her neighbors house and stole $4300 would anyone think she got too harsh of a penalty? As compared to the other guy? Yes.
November 16, 201114 yr Tough choices abound out there. It's so tough to say someone deserved what they got for a situation like this. Compassion does seem an option to consider here. From the limited information I was able to glean from the two articles, it seems she actually was legitimately trying to turn her life around after a past of poor choice, and then faced with another choice (for far different reasons), unfortunately fell into making another bad choice.
November 16, 201114 yr The guy in the mortgage fraud scheme got off lightly, for sure. Mississippi messed that one up IMO. As for the woman, it's hard for me to defend her due to the four-time felony convictions & tested positive while on bond.
November 16, 201114 yr As compared to the other guy? Yes.Do you think she deserved less or the other guy deserved more? Remember she already has 4 felony convictions.
November 16, 201114 yr This is off topic, but she shouldn't have been in jail for drugs in the first place. It's an addiction! You have to treat drug addicts, not detain them. Now that being said, it is a waste of tax payer's dollars to put her behind bars for 3 years. How someone who is a part of a $3 million mortgage fraud scheme serves less time than someone who lied about $4,367 (food stamps) baffles me. However, if she has to apply for food stamps because she cannot afford food then she shouldn't be able to afford drugs.

I don't think you can trade sex for peanut butter, not that that was what she was doing, but exchanges for drugs are sometimes easier to come by than exchanges for food. As to the jail and addiction, I am feeling you on that one.

I don't know what the drug charges were but if it was for selling I couldn't disagree with you more. Because someone is an addict shouldn't mean they are absolved of responsiblity. If it was for felony possesssion then I would tend to agree.
