I don't think SEMPERFIFALCON was taking PT for granite. He, along with most of us, know that the road to Bowling Green first requires getting off at Exit #7 in Paducah and facing a superb PT squad.

I can honestly say that SemperFiFalcon was meaning no disrespect to PT, just stating an obvious fact that PT is THE team to beat. If, and that is a huge stretch with the way Monroe has been playing, they come to play it will be a descent game. And with that I am not saying Monroe wins...just a good game!!!

I hope you are correct Scribe.

Coach McKillip has the defense playing superb football right now. The Paducah Tilghman game convinced McKillip to move some personnel around. After a season and a half, we got the right players in the right position.

On offense, Coach Berner moving Aaron Hills back to QB has changed the whole dynamic of the team.

We want to take care of business at Edmonson and then get another shot at PT.

Hills has embraced the leadership role at quarterback and the players have responded. That much is obvious. They have also made some personnel adjustments on defense.

The coaches I have talked to that have seen Edmonson County aren't overly impressed, but to their credit, they are winning. I'm curious to see how each team responds from playing from behind since neither has done so in a long time.

I will say that if they continue to lay the ball on the ground like they have the last few games then Edmonson will make them pay. The last few teams have not had the firepower to do so.

How many times did Monroe put the ball on the ground against Edmonson County?

I honestly have no idea how many fumbles they had against Monroe. I am really seeing this as lone weakness in Ft. Campbell's armor. After seeing them first-hand the other night I am beyond impressed with Ft. Campbell. I really see turnovers as the only way that this game stays close, but if they turn it over it will be a dog fight..

Really? A "decent"hurdle? Please take PT for granite. It will be the last team Monroe does this season.

Didnt mean to fire up your "little man complex". PT is ranked at the top of 3A, a favorite to make it to BG and the favorite to win the region. No one is taking them lightly hoss...

Didnt stir up the" little mans complex"...just the way you worded it was condescending, as in decent instead of you using the word formidable, which is probably the case.Trust me i know PT is in the drivers seat. Which is not a good place for a football team to be in sometimes. More often than not that is when you overlook someone else. Monroe has a fine team with lots of playoff experience and will bring the wood. As far as" little mans complex" . 6'5 280....never had that disease!

When you say "they" do you mean Fort Campbell? If my memory serves me correctly, and FalconBacker & FC can help me out with this, last weeks game against South Warren is the most that Fort Campbell has coughed up the ball. The Falcons protect the ball rather well.

You are correct Bill. The game last week was not the norm, but those games do happen from time to time. I don't expect turnovers to be an issue Friday night.

Thanks for the confirmation. See you Friday night.....drive safely!

Road to Bowling Green is through Central or Bell county.

The road to Edmonson County is through Bowling Green.....at least it is from Fort Campbell. We're not thinkin' that far ahead buddy....one week at a time.

On paper, it would appear that way. Fortunately, when the clock strikes midnight on November 18th only one of those teams will be left.

FC is focused on Edmonson County tonight.

Tonight's the night! Will Fort Campbell end Edmonson County's undefeated run and send them home or will it be an extremely long drive home for the Falcon faithful?

I'm lookin' forward to it, that's for certain!

Here is my take on this match up. I'm somebody that is all about looking at how teams match up against one another, and I don't mean by just comparing scores, but:

1) Team offensive strengths/weaknesses? Where they have the edge in personell, where they don't?

1) Team defensive strengths/weaknesses? What do they do a great job of stopping? What are they vulnerable too? Personell match ups?

With that said, I noticed on Ft. Campbell's schedule where they only played one team this year that lived off of just trying to line up and run over your butt, and that was Warren Central. Had Warren Central tried to make the game a spread it out, track meet type event, this score might not have been? Why? Because Ft. Campbell can play a track meet style game with anybody in the state. Very few people are going to out athlete Ft. Campbell and Edmonson County knows they don't match up athetically and they aren't about to give Ft. Campbell what they want, which is a track meet. However, they are going to line up and come right at Ft. Campbell. How will Ft. Campbell handle that? That's a huge question.

On the other hand, you have an Edmonson County team, that while they have done a great job this year on both sides of the ball, the people that have caused them problems are teams that like to spread it out. And, I don't mean "spread" in terms of trying to throw it 50 times, but teams that try to do both and/or spread you out to try and run it. Cases in point; Grayson County (spread/flexbone option like Georgia Tech) put up 26 points on Edmonson. Hart County (TFS team that relied primarily on spreading you from field to field and running it), put up 21 on Edmonson. Adair County (multiple formations + a handfull of run and pass plays) threw 20 up and Butler County (TFS relying on both run/pass evenly) put up 26. What does that tell me as a casual observer? Spread Edmonson County out a little with a good run/pass mix and you might be able to do something. Then, throw in the fact that not only in Ft. Campbell going to spread Edmonson all over the field like those I mentioned did, but they are going to be heads and shoulders better athetically than any of those people.

In a nutshell, what we have tonight are two very different teams, yet very good teams. Two teams that, if they have a defensive weakness, just happens to be opposing teams offensive strength(s). I think this might be the best 2nd round match up in the state to be honest. Too close to call for me to pick a winner, but I'm thinking a 28-27, 28-21, 35-28 type ball game. Brownsville should be rockin' tonight.
