Beechwood 63 Bellevue 6

About what I expected.

Vocke had 171 yards on 15 carries plus 57 yards on 2 catches.

Oh, he also had a 95 yard punt return.

Pretty good numbers, just joking, very.

Not that it makes a difference but I think the final was 63-8. Bellevue went for 2 and got it.

Nussbaum also had a long TD run ... maybe 55-60 yards. Sophomore Mitch Thomas had a nice run for the last TD ... around 25 yards. Taylor Davis had 5 TD passes and threw for around 150 yards, maybe more. That was nice to see. Some good long throws. Just what he needs to get back on track. This was his best game since the opener versus Simon Kenton.

I could not agree more about Davis. If that gives him a renewed confidence then BW becomes a multi-dimensional team again. They can hit from anywhere. Vocke scored three different ways last night and that is further testamonial to getting him in "space". This offense should be called "The 100 Yard REDzone".

Q ... you have been a little sensitive and defensive in the Bellevue related threads this past week. Typos happen all the time on BGP so don't take the misspelling as a slight.

As to your Bellevue Tigers, they played hard the entire night and they have some talented players. The Fogelman kid is a good football player. They looked well coached and I would say they are definitely an above average 1A team. I haven't seen Ludlow or Dayton yet, but my guess from watching Bellevue is the Tigers will win likely win both those games rather easily. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Bellevue wins a couple of playoff games and Beechwood faces the rival Tigers again at some point. I like Bellevue. I like their football program. They are hard working hard hitting and always come to play. A lot of pride in the program. That same hard work you see on the football field is happening in the classroom as well, as evidenced by their most recent test scores. A nice community with a lot of good things happening.
