Back to the game NCC jumped out early 21-0 in the 1st quarter and then was in scoring position the next four times they had the ball and did not score. I think Holems should play #10 at quaterback he threw the ball well and ran the ball well. The starting quaterback for holmes seem to throw the ball up like a punt except for the screen passes. Ncc control the game for the most part untill late. I think Ncc had alot of the second team in when holmes scored their last 2 td's.

I guess Bengal Maniac wasn't at the Beechwood game. Holmes has been the dirtiest team I've seen over my 30yrs around football. Late hits on almost every play and Holmes kids headhunting kids away from the play. Late hits are going to happen but not at the rate they happen at Holmes. There is playing hard and playing dirty and if you play Holmes I will let you decide for yourself but I think you know where I stand.

As I said it has been happening for years and to get rid of the tag you need to play a lot cleaner than they do. Everyone opposing team knows it is going to happen if they get up on the score. Not saying it is the coaching at all. They players may think they are just playing hard, maybe they need to start playing smart.

I've played against Holmes before and they do play dirty when you get up them. But from what I heard from last night it was a cheap shot, Holmes had the ball recovered then Collopy got hit.

As far as Holmes and 'cheap shots' The history regarding this type of behavior is long and consistent. Decades ago players knew to watch for the "Banzii" toward the end of the game if you had Holmes down. Coaches even reminded the players to be ready. The entire holmes team would shoot across the line just as the offense went down on "set" in their stance.

I agree with you Clyde. I would also add in "skill". Big difference between being "skilled" and an "athletic".

 

In football, much is predicated on the success of your offensive and defensive lines. Over the years, Holmes has not had great o-lines but within the right system they can have success. I really don't know what Holmes is running this year on offense but it is nothing like they have ran in the past when they had some success.

 

As for the cheap shot argument, I will disagree.

 

In addition, why have one of your better player's/starter in the game when it is essentially over?

With all of that being said, Holmes has done better this year than most would have thought.

Holmes has a pretty good D but the change to the offense is terrible. A new coach and new philosiphy but it should not be that bad IMO.
