I was told tonight that SK GRADUATED over 50 starters in the past 3 years. It is hard to expect to produce a winning team year in and year out when you are graduating that many kids.

Very true, this happens with the majority of them.

MArksberry is most overrated coach in NKY. They went on those runs with grat players. Have the ever won a game that they were not suppose to. If u say Male 3 yrs ago I will go bananas. They were an avergae Male team with a terrible offensive concept. Also, the savior, Big Bubba is the "O" line coach. They have been miserable the last 2 yrs. Its funny how athletes can make a coach look great and when u don't have them it shows your lack of coaching ability.

 

They have athletes they just have them playing at the wrong positions.

My guess is Steve will say the win is simply a nice reward for doing it right and keeping the faith. Hats off to the boys. I have seen them twice this year and they looked a lot better the 2nd time than the first. That's a sign of coaching and a team that is maturing.

 

I agree. If Coach Lickert stays long enough with the Camels, I can definitely see them being a district contender in the future. He knows how to get the best out of the kids he coaches and with limited numbers too.

All SK has to do is beef up the D-line start 3 players over 230 pounds on the D-line. Move the current D-linemen to LB. Then take the two outside linebackers and move them to CB. Then let the current corners start at WR. This would help the offense. Also if SK could get Mills some reps at TE or RB they are wasting his talent on the D-line. Mills would make a great LB or a even better TE or RB.

The Camels should get some more wins their QB is a big boy and a hard one to bring down once he gets moving.

There are 2 huge factors in H.S. football. The best player on the field gives a huge advantage to his team (aka Miles Simpson). Also, like no other sport coaching plays a huge part. A coach can dictate the outcome like no other sport. I knew Marksberry was not a good coach when Josh Elbert's class were seniors and they were picked by everyone to win 4A. That year, 5 and 5 and no playoff game. A QB that throws for over 2k and runs for another 800, a big TB, and Scott's best player transfers over and Jeff leads them to 5 and 5. The last 3 yrs Miles, Lawrence, Baldwin, and most importantly Coach Herbst has made him look like the 2nd coming of Bear Bryant or Dale Mueller.

Congratulations to Coach Lickert on his first win; happy for you. On the other hand, not a loss the the Pioneers needed. After this one, it appears that their only shot at a win in the district is likely Cooper or Conner, don't see them beating anyone else.

I would put Mills at outside LB and have him rush the passer every down. He is being recruited by Ball State to play LB. When SK had their midnight practice at the start of the season Mills looked very good at TE catching passes over the middle.

Not really their young QB will be another good one his Junior and Senior year!!!!
