Who has Scott played so far?

Webster Couty 0-5

Harrison County 1-4

Madison Central 2-3

Tates Creek 2-4

Pretty week schedule to say the least.

Why would Scott Co. schedule one of the weakest 3A schools in the state in Webster Co.? What were they going to get out of it other than a win?

Somewhere between 6 - 10 should be a N Ky school or two.

 

My guess is the voters, like most of the fans, can't separate Dixie, Ryle, and Boone - thus they split up the votes and wind up not making the list.

I do find it curious that Male is back at #8. A couple week's ago it was asked if the team was their worst in 30 years. Were they that impressive last week? Maybe putting them back in the top 10 was to create some conversation on the forum...

Not exactly Murderer's Row, you would have to admit. Maybe these teams will become more formidable as the season progresses.

"Why would Scott Co. schedule one of the weakest 3A schools in the state in Webster Co..." - Apparently, it was the last open week in Scott Co's schedule, late in the scheduling process, and no other available teams were willing to play SC. Remember, they made it to the 6A semi-finals last year and had 14 returning starters.

 

Regarding all the "weak schedule" comments - The Lexington area schools traditionally play each other every year, just like Louisville and NKY 6A programs, and I hope that never stops. Local rivalries are what has made high school football thrive for years. Then you start filling in games based on availability, travel budget, relationships between coachs and other influences. Simon Kenton was 10-3 last year. Seneca won half their games and produced a D1 QB. Harrison-Scott Co has been a healthy rivalry and Harrison Co won half their games last year, too.

 

But here's the bottomline - Scott County is a very good team that is dominating every game, but some of you won't believe that unless you see them playing in Bowling Green in December. If you haven't seen them, watch the first half of some of SC's games on ihigh.com (starters were pulled after Q3, Q2 and Q2 respectively).

I am sure they are pretty good, especially if they returned 14 starters, but you have to admit their schedule has been pretty week so far. I guess that happens sometimes. Even though you mention that these teams had a decent record last year they do not seem to be quite as good this year based on their current records. This could definitely hurt Scott County. It sure won't be a good thing come playoff time if you had to pull your starters after the second quarter for most of your games.

Believe me, we would all like to see the starters in for the majority of every game. It's difficult for the college prospects to put up good stats with the equivalent of half games. It is what it is.

I think the creator of these polls happens to be biast...my guess, is towards teams he has not seen. I believe three NKY Schools would beat the bottom 7, with exception to St. X. Dixie loses to three teams, 1st, 2nd, and 1st in their respective polls (although they lost to HHS badly). Ryle loses to two perennial powerhouses in Ohio. Boone loses two close games to Dixie and CCH. All of the teams named, not in 6A, are better than the ones ranked 4-10 (w/ the exception of St. X). But what do rankings mean?
