Glasgow 14 Somerset 7

Final. Sounds like a great game!

This one surprises me. Anyone?

Not me!!! The Scotties return all starters from last year and SHOULD make a deep run in the playoffs this year!!! It would not surprise me at all to see them in BG this year!!!!!

Not me. Somerset lost 18 seniors from last years team so they are going to experience some bumps. They will be fine as these younger players get seasoned.

I am surprised. Somerset lost alot of seniors the year before to. Thought they would win this one at home. They will finish 7-3 or so and make a deep run in the playoffs. There tough schedule will help them in the playoffs. Would not be surprised to see them in Bowling Green.

This was a very hard fought game. Somerset had a chance to go on top 7-0 early but dropped a sure touchdown pass on their first possession. Glasgow led 6-0 at halftime. Somerset took the lead when Storm Wilson returned the 2nd half kickoff for a touchdown. Glasgow scored early in the 4th and added a 2 point conversion for the final margin. Somerset's defense was helped by the return of all-state lineman Trey Slaughter but they couldn't overcome the 5 turnovers (all interceptions) committed by the offense. The Briar Jumpers ran the ball pretty well at times but the interceptions just killed them. The biggest play of the game came when Glasgow picked off a Somerset pass on 2nd and 5 from the Scotties 13 yard line in the 4th quarter. I really thought Somerset would power the ball on in on the ground and possibly force overtime. If the Briar Jumpers can figure out their passing game or move to a power running game to the point that they can score 21 points a game they will be hard to handle as the defense seems to be getting better each week. Tough loss but hopefully it will help down the road. Somerset has played 3 very tough opponents the last 3 weeks but Glasgow may have been the best of the 3. They have a real chance to represent the west in Bowling Green.

Glasgow's win surprized me. What about Somerset's offense ? Glasgow's secondary must have really kick it up a notch after they played Monroe.

The only thing that has surprised me about Glasgow is how they weren’t ranked in the BGP preseason top 10:idunno:... All joking aside, this team is loaded and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them in BG...
