I don't even remotely have a list yet. But let's hear everyone's. The only thing I know for sure are these two albums will definitely be on there:

Notorious B.I.G - Ready to Die

Outkast - Aquemeni

Beastie Boys--Licensed to ILL

Anything by Grandmaster Flash

Not going to list 10, but one I always feel is completely underappreciated is Harlem World by Mase.

A couple notes to preface this: 1) this isn't a "most influential" or even a "best" list; these are just my favorite, 2) I only allowed for one album per artist or both Public Enemy and A Tribe Called Quest would have made multiple appearances each in my Top 10 and 3) I did this off the top of my head... it will probably be different by about 8 pm tonight. I might post an update...

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

Madvillain - Madvillainy

Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back

De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising

A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders

Das EFX - Dead Serious

Lords of the Undergound - Here Come the Lords

CommonSense/Common - Resurrection

DJ Format - Music for the Mature B-Boy

Jay-Z - The Blueprint

Don't know if I could particularly name ten, but these four would have to be in mine:

Fugees - The Score

Outkast - Aquemeni

A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory

Mos Def - Black On Both Sides

Sir Mix Alot- Mack Daddy

Wow, going to take a lot of thought before I can come up with a legit final list, but just off the top of my head a few to consider are.....

No Illmatic yet?! I'll also add Midnight Marauders by ATCQ. Good thread, by the way.

No Illmatic yet?!

Great album, just not a huge Nas fan. Maybe its because I like Jay-Z a lot better?

If it doesn't make the final cut it will definitely be in the honorable mentions.

Master P - MP Da Last Don

That last one sticks out like a sore thumb. If you would have said Ghetto D then I probably wouldn't have said anything...but Da Last Don was pretty awful.

Other than that it's a solid list.

Well couple of my favorite P songs were on that album so I guess thats why I included it other than Game Face or Ghetto D. I have been listening to Da Last Don a lot more than the others lately so that probably has something to do with it. I just had to get a Master P album on the list, always loved P and never felt he got the recognition he deserved as far as putting his stamp on the hip hop industry.

Going to put my list up later tonight. Love this thread.

Been listening to Hip-Hop since 8 a.m. and I'm nowhere closer to having a list.

Can't wait to see yours man. And still waiting on the Pac/Biggie answer. :D
