It's going to be pretty darn interesting. People are going to be able to create alliances with the other tribes early and it will be interesting to see how all that plays out. Typically, you win immunity you get to relax and just enjoy your day. Now, you'll still have an invested interest in whose going home and depending on how you are alligned, you might be scrambling and trying to help your alliances in the losing tribe.

I'm really starting to like the idea of this. When there is no significant cross-tribe interaction before the merge it always seems to be a numbers games. Switching it up and giving players the opportunity to create other alliances generally makes for good seasons.

Sophie (Survivor, Jacoby), 5 points: Once every three seasons, Survivor brings me to a really dark, twisted place in my own psyche that I am not proud of. As a matter of fact, this is a place in there right next to “the time when I was a kid and threw a rock at a car and put a nun in the hospital” that I am so ashamed of that I have it filed it deep in that mental manila folder labeled, “Deny It Ever Happened.” I wasn’t going to write about it until someone tweeted me with the same thought and I felt compelled to address it (‘sup @justin_miller85). So ... fine, I am just going to go out and say it: Sometimes the female contestants on Survivor become more and more attractive as the season goes on and they are losing insane amounts of weight.

 

It’s wrong, it’s gross, and I am not proud of it. I won’t bore you with a 2,000-word explanation of how commercialism, the fashion industry, and Rachel Zoe have warped humanity’s concept of beauty and that is why I feel this way. I will just acknowledge that I feel that way, acknowledge that it is weird and wrong, and hope that you never acknowledge that I wrote this. Cool? Cool.

 

Oh yeah, Sophie also got in a fight with Albert (5 points) but I didn’t notice what it was about because I was lost in her piercing blue eyes

 

I don't think Sophie ever got hot. But she went from "not attractive at all" to "it wouldn't take to many...". Either way, she definitely became a lot more attractive and there have been many other contestants that have been that way for me. Survivor also reinforces a thought I commonly have that many women either A)don't need make up at all or B) have no clue how to wear make up. For example, I thought Ozzy's girlfriend was better looking on the island than on the reunion show and she is pretty hot regardless.

I'm not real sure I can agree with him on the Sophie stuff, but I will definitely agree about the makeup.

 

Except for Whitney. That girl is beautiful before, during, and after the show.

I thought Russel got hosed as well. I hate the bitterness that always, ALWAYS plays a big part in the final vote. That kills me. Now I understand that means the players should know that the bitterness comes into play and incorporate that, but I guess I'm from the Dr. Will camp on Big Brother, the best player should win. Obviously we won't all agree on best player, I get that as well, but from my perspective Coach did a fantastic job getting to the end.

 

But a huge part of Survivor is the social aspect, always has been always will be and should be as far as I'm concerned. Those people have been food, sleep and contact deprived for several days and then have to overcome that and vote for someone they think cost them a million dollars. It's very easy to sit in your living room and say you would be able to overcome the bitterness and vote for the best player (and as far as I'm concerned Coach doesn't get that tag because he was only a fair to poor challange player). I don't think I could. I am fairly certain that in that situation I would be very vindictive and give a revenge vote to hurt the person I felt most responsible for my elimination.

How about final three Coach, Ozzie and Sophie?

 

Rick - votes for Coach if Coach doesn't lie to Rick.

Jim - Respects Coach's game totally and could easily vote Coach over Ozzie. (When Probst asked who would have voted for Ozzie, I don't think Jim raised his hand)

Dawn - I see her voting Sophie as long as Sophie plays the emotion card. Dawn is the ultimate empathic personality.

You're throwing a ton of "what ifs" into it now. We could play that same game and say if Cochran stays true to his original alliance....

 

Bottom line is Coach did do those things, so we can't take that away.

Jim raised his hand for Ozzy, it was Coach he didn't raise his hand for.

I know a lot of people are saying if Coach didn't lie to Rick. But unlike the, if Ozzy had won scenario, I'm not sure Coach could have gotten to where he was without lying to Rick. In the Mikayla (I think) vote Coach needed Rick to vote with him and I'm sure there were other instances throughout the game where Coach needed Rick to go with him based on Rick's thoughts that Coach would be taking him to the final 3 as "a Christian man".

This. I think my social game would be good enough that I could be straight up with people and still win. My game would be taylor-made to win the jury over with pandering for votes.

I have a friend who is very good at editing and has a nice camera. Let me see what I can do. I'll talk to my family/friends over the holidays for ideas. He has a busy schedule so I'm not 100% positive I can get it done.
