First Musketeer Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Best start for the Rebels in decades! How many home games left? Can I still get tickets?
Sandman Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Best start for the Rebels in decades! How many home games left? Can I still get tickets? How long has Owen County been playing football? I don't know much about their history, other than they're having a good year thus far. I thought they were relatively new to football, I may be wrong.

They have been playing football a very long time. Not sure how long but at least 45 years.
Scratch43 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Rebel faithful; correct me if I'm wrong(and I'm sure you will! LOL). Coach Patterson(current BOE Chair's father) started the program in early to mid-60s. Roy Cochran had the team for quite a while with their best teams in the early 80s with his sons playing. Runner-up in the state or Regional runner-up in that time period being beaten by eventual state champ Russellville. Only one winning season since 1990 (1994 I believe, 6-4 under current Bellevue coach, Croley). So not 'relatively new' to football, just to winning football!

Had no idea they had been playing that long. And, I wasn't intending any disrespect to the program at all. Just didn't know anything about their history, so don't read anything into the "relatively new" choice of words.
gchs_uk9 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Can anyone give any comment on what type of team Western Hills has?

According to my district standings record I have Owen County's first season as 1963, where they went 1-2 in district play. I have no idea about their regular season record. But congratulations to Owen County for their early season success. Hopefully it will continue.
AloneAndInsane13 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Erlanger Lloyd (28-13), Grant County, (20-6), Bourbon County (21-14), Western Hills (32-26). They have a bye week this week and play at Bellevue on September 23.
hrcarrier Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Congratulations to the Rebels on the way the season has went so far. I can't remember any time that Owen County has started with this kind of success. I hope the team keeps up with its winning ways, good luck on the rest of the season.
oldonetechnique Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 They have played nobody so far, some not very good programs who are even having down years compared to their history, lets see if they beat anyone decent.

Owen County has not had a winning season since the early 90's...let them enjoy a little success.
oldonetechnique Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 If I remember correctly they started out, rolling last year as well 3-0 or 4-0?
