Prayer request......

Featured Replies

Prayers and thoughts coming from Shelby County to this young man and his family during this tragic time. Also, let's not forget the football players on his team as well, no doubt that this man was a huge part of their lives as well...

^^ Absolutely, as well as this entire community.

This is so horrible! My thoughts and prayers are with this family and the entire Raceland community.

I will also lift the family in prayer.

I just heard about this today. My thoughts and prayers are with the Elkins family.

I just need to say someting about a man I didn't know very well. But did talk in passing from time to time. Just a view from someone from the outside looking in. Our kids play on the same team. So I would see him and we would say hi. And sometimes talk about the team a little. I truly believe Mr Elkins died doing what he loved to do. And that is setting in the stands with his wife by his side. Watching his son play sports. You could tell he was a very proud father. And rightfully so. You'll never see a better looking and more respectful kid then Adam. You could tell this was a very tight family. Often I would be in the stands watching practice. And you could see Mr Elkins wife walking the track with friends. When she and friends would make that trip around you could see them make eye contact and smile. Sometimes make a joke. Both were very lucky to have that. You will I bet never find a husband and wife work harder then them. Just awesome boosters for our little school. Mr Elkins will be missed by out school and athletic programs. You can't replace someone like him. I asked myself many times. How do they do it? Where do they find the time?

I read in the paper today he was born in Pikeville. I can't believe this is where his life ended. On the football field watching his son. Setting with his wife. In the same town he was born 43 years ago. You will be missed!

Prayers for this family.
