That thinking is very out-dated. Lots of doctors disagree about the "no safe amount" and some recommend a glass of wine a week or even more often. Most recent studies only frown upon excessive drinking and/or drinking anything other than wine.

For a pregnant woman, she could receive the same anti-oxidative properties from grape juice as she could wine without asking the liver to dilute the alcohol and crossing the placental barrier. And doctors never agree, some graduate towards the bottom of their class even.
