2011 NFL Predictions

You say that like the Bengals have shown they are good enough to win games.

Ok so why do people say that about the Browns, acting like they are an improving team right now? I just don't understand what have the Browns done to make them all of a sudden a team who will do well this year? I would definitely take the players the Bengals have over the players the Browns have right now. I couldn't even imagine how down this town would be on this team if they had the players the Browns have. The bengals at least have some young talent who do offer some hope or at least some excitement, while you hardly see anyone on the Browns who could do that.

I am done with this for now though. The season starts Sunday we will see how it goes. Remember my prediction is based on how Dalton plays. I fully admit if Dalton struggles and can't even manage the game then this team will be horrible and be lucky to win 2 games.

Well obviously. If the Browns score more points the Bengals will lose.

Everyone is down on my G-men , I like it that way.

I think they finish second in the division behind Philly.

I cant see how a Rex Grossman led Redskins team is better though.

I have admitted I am showing some bias in thinking he won't do that bad. So if Dalton can manage the game this year, I do think it is very possible to get to 8 and 8. Even though each preseason game started off bad, he did show me something and was able to manage to put somethings together. All that could change in the regular season though. So we will see what happens. I am just saying how the Bengals do this year is based on how Dalton plays. This team IMO is good enough with the schedule they play to do something this year, if they had a QB. QB is the big question mark, so it depends on him IMO.

It is tough picking between Dallas and New York.

The biggest concerns with NY is losing Smith and Boss in free agency and the injury bug that has hit their defense this pre-season.

With Dallas, it is the o-line. Also, most assume the defense will be better with Rex Ryan coordinating, but that isn't a certainty. I could see either finishing second or third, and to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if either won the division. But, at this point, it is hard to pick against Philly.

The Giants played much of last season without Smith and Boss, while decent, wasnt a top TE in regards to stats.

I just dont see Dallas being that good. But in the NFL, unless you are Cincy, you never know.

True. And, Eli set a career high in picks. Boss was a solid option, but I agree with you. He's far from irreplaceable. I don't think either of those guys are irreplaceable, but it is a question mark heading into the season. The most troubling thing for me was Eli looked sloppy and careless in the pre-season as well.

The o-line for Dallas is the big question in my mind. If it pans out, they've got the weapons to be a great offense.

My divisional predictions in the NFC are looking ugly :ohbrother:

Looks like I nailed the 'Niners and Bengals.

I picked them to win 7 games combined. The 49ers are already there and the Bengals are one win away.

I don't take responsibility for the Colts pick, because I didn't know Manning would miss the season. I would have picked 2, maybe 3 wins had I known. And even that looks to be an overestimate.

I would say live and learn, but this is the NFL. This happens every year.

^Yeah, you're not biased FC.

I have a better shot at making it in the NFL then the Bengals do at winning 8 games.

Hey good news man, it looks like you will be playing in the NFL soon...:sssh:

The only bias would be thinking Dalton could do decent in his rookie year. If people actually look at the Bengals with a clear view, and look what they have. They are a team that does have some talent, the biggest question mark is QB. Which as I said if Dalton completely sucks which is possible, then yeah they probably only win 2 games if even that. For people to think that the Bengals only will win 3 games even if Dalton does decent, that is just letting your bias for hating the owner getting in the way. If Dalton can at least do decent and manage the game, then 8 games is certaintly possible when you look at everything. From the young talent on the team, to the easy early season schedule they have. Which that early season schedule might have gotten even easier depending if Manning plays. If he does not play, then the first 6 games of the year is not that hard at all. If they can do well during that stretch, it will give them confidence and a team with confidence is dangerous. It all depends on Dalton really, so I admit I am showing bias in thinking Dalton can do decent early and manage games. However if he does do that, then yeah 8 wins is very possible. If he sucks, then they will be lucky to win 2 games.

Hmmm good call on that. People tried to say I was letting my bias getting in the way. However as I said then, if you looked at it in a clear view, it was not that hard to see that this team had some talent. The only people who showed bias in this thread were the people who let their bias of hating Mike Brown, clowd their view of the team and how they actually had talent. :D

The only thing I really got wrong was not saying what the Bengals record could be if Dalton does really good like he has. I thought they could do 8 and 8 if he played decent. As I said then he was the biggest question mark for me coming in the year, since I had no idea on how he would do. I did think he would do decent though! :D

Man I am glad you all brought this thread back up. I caught a lot of crap in this thread, and so far most of the stuff of what I said in this thread when it comes to at least the Bengals and even the Browns has been right on the money. :D

They had more talent last year, and your hero CP throwing the ball, and the managed what 4 wins? No chance they win 8. None, zero, zilch, nada, not happening.

Ouch :D
