Did Walton Verona lie to the KHSAA?

Featured Replies

I don't know that Newport Catholic could face any sanctions for taking Sullivan if the school knew the full extent of his issues at Walton-Verona, but if they did, it's a public black eye.

NCC could be held culpable if they knowingly used a player that was giving false info to the KHSAA. But in this circumstance he transferred with a change of address so whether NCC knew the "circumstances" surrouding the move (which in fact they had to..... I mean it was all over NKY) then it is more of a morality question on the part of those on the hill, not necessarily a legal question.

This just kind of went away.. Anybody have any updates on what happened? Or not happening?

I'm pretty good at holding off judgement until all the facts come out.

But as a citizen of what I believe to be a very fine community, it does bother me that I have not seen any response whatsoever by the Board of Education or Superintendent. I expected to hear or read something along the lines of "We as a school take these accusations very seriously and an investigation is in progress." or possibly a "We feel confident that once all the facts are set straight that our administration and student will be cleared of any wrong doing."

I just wish some kind of response was given to show that this whole mess is being taken very seriously. I think that as someone who lives here, amongst the young people, and pays taxes, I am entitled to at least a "we're looking in to it."

It is also possible that something was indeed presented and I just didn't see it.

I could not open the article in Guru's original post, so I'm left with piecing together the story. It sounds like I'm the only person in NKY that wasn't aware of this story. I am puzzled as to what WV had to gain by lying to the KHSAA. If less than full disclosure constitutes a lie, then they certainly may be complicit. I am very concerned about NCC's culpability. Based on what I've gathered in everyone's post, it seems that they made an irresponsible decision that may have (perhaps unwittingly) 'jeopardized' the coed student body. Although the sports angle is the basis of this thread and the suit, I am more concerned about the other aspects involved. Students have been dismissed from private schools for much less.

It seemed almost everyone knew what was going on except the KHSAA. Is it true the paper work for the transfer went through in less than a week? What has happened with this? I heard the KHSAA was notified of this??? Does his dad work for Walton Verona or the Boone County Board of Education?

Let"s make it clear that Walton Verona is not apart of the Boone County Board of Education. I guess they are an independent school system like Beechwood.

What is the word on this??

I would assume the silence on the issue means nothing has been settled yet. My hope is that the truth, whatever it is, will come out and everyone will be held accountable for their actions or inactions.
