Jody Demling Recap of the weekend

Jody did a nice recap of the weekend. It was great to see a lineman featured. Coach Beatty's comments were very typical for him. If you have listened to him, he doesn't put much faith in luck. He believes in hard work and preparation. His comments after the game really do sum up his approach as a coach. He said that his father, who died last year at this time, would have said "Great job, now get back to work in the morning". I have heard Coach Beatty say much the same thing after a big win, "Enjoy this game tonight. Be back here to go to work on Saturday morning."

I also noticed that the four largest attendance games in state playoff history all involved Trinity.

For those that would believe that Trinity has been "backpedaling" over the past few years, it is interesting to note the summary of what Coach Beatty has accomplished over his six years. Great job!!

So, for all of you eighth grade boys out there, come to Trinity. You will be valued as an individual. You will be encouraged to become the best person you can be. We will not try to turn you into our version of what is ideal, we will work with your family to develop the program that is best suited to your talents and abilities. And if you are a football player, there is an 85 percent chance that you will graduate with a championship ring on your finger. No other school can tell you that.

What public school can make a recruiting pitch like the above post?

You sure about that?

Since Trinity won the title for the first time in 1968, the following classes won a title during their three years on the varsity. Freshmen don't get rings at Trinity. The classes that won rings are: 69, 70, 71, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 and 08. The classes of 72, 94, 98, 99, 00 and 01 did not win the title. That is 34 of 40 classes or 85 percent. Can anyone else match it? By the way, the class of 94 is the only one in that time period that did not play in the championship game. Do you have a school in mind that can match that?

Do you have a school in mind that can match that?
Of course you mean "other than Highlands" right?

Since 1984, no class at Danville has not played in a State championship game

Make sure and make this guy a greeter at open house. May I should have gone to Trinity..... Since he implies X made me carbon copy robot of everyone I graduated with????

Of course you mean "other than Highlands" right?

Nope, If you go back to the first Highlands title in 1960, the percentage is 79 percent. If you start with the 1968 win to match the time period I used for Trinity, it is 77 percent. That is a great statistic, but only good for second place.

Gosh, I didn't mention x. Is there something about what I said that made you think of them?

Sorry...our history goes back MUCH further than your brief time on the scene. That puts us right out front. No doubt.

Gosh, I didn't mention x. Is there something about what I said that made you think of them?

Hence I mentioned passive aggressive, look it up.

Enjoy your victory.

By the way, is it time to take down the 2004 regional champs b-ball banner and move it to oldham county or send it to Berry as thanks?

I recall no banner or excessive celebration when we won in 1995.

HHS' classes that won rings are 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 05, 06, 07. That's 37 of 48 classes or 77%. If you take the same time period for Trinity, you get 34 of 49 classes which is 69%.

I'll chalk this up to a stat that can be manipulated the way you see fit. :thumb: If you use your philosophy, Beechwood would smoke all of us since their first title. Actually, so would LexCath at this point.

Gosh, I didn't mention x. Is there something about what I said that made you think of them?

No, when you said Demling I knew it would not be X but his Rocks!!! If X would have won that little section of the paper would not be there we all know. Oh well, he covers some sports pretty well. I miss Bob White.
