12 Region Baseball

Featured Replies

I've thought that as well, but with the state of the game of basebal today (ie power, power, power), the Astros probably wouldn't take a chance with two singles hitting, speedy players in the same outfield. Tavares is set in center, and already provides speed and average.

Josh has some major wheels. He used to workout with the SHS baseball team at the baseball academy, The Strike Zone. I could see him just being a pinch runner in the league. It would work for me, because you would still make a ton of money.

Josh hits on a daily basis at Pulaski; Coach McAninch throws to him and he sometimes works with some of the players. He was working hard on turning on the inside pitch to be more productive at the plate, in order not to be labeled a "singles hitter." He needs to get out of that park in Corpus Christi where the wind is forever blowing in from right field, and he might manage a few more homers.

In fact, it's kind of amazing that Josh, as fast as he is now, didn't steal a silly amount of bases in high school. He was one of those kids that developed late in high school and benefitted a ton from going to college.

The Somerset Briar Jumpers will be very good this year. It will all be done by the strong pitching performance by Jordy Molen. This guy has got one of the sickest curveballs in the region. If they will be able to get some hitting they should be able to go far in the region.

That's all he has is a curveball. Not too hard to sit on it when you know it's coming.

Who is going to win the 12 region?

Somerset, Southwestern and Pulaski Co. will have contending teams this year.. Don't know much about the rest of the region but the region always has some strong contenders for state honors...

The final four teams in the region tournament last year were Boyle Co., Mercer Co., Danville, and Garrard Co. None of those teams started more than three seniors!!

I know everyone wants to name the old 12 region teams.

Lets not forget about the new teams: Rockcastle has been very competative in the 13th Region winning or competing for the 13 Region title for the past 4 or 5 years.

Lets also not forget about East and West Jessamine who have been trying to get our of the 11th Region ( Lexington). Jody Hamilton coach of West Jessamine with a State Championship from Boyd Co.

Could be a very interesting 12th Region.

I couldn't agree more..

I like Mercer from the final four a year ago.
