I think Wallen is close, and I've only seen the Fitzpatrick kid throw a couple times.

Brown has better stuff, Perkins is really still learning how to pitch. The difference in Perkins at the beginning of last year compared to the end was night and day.

Perkins won a head to head matchup 2-1 last year.

How do you think Somerset will fare in the 12th Region this year? I'm not sure on what they have returning, i know they will be young, but how young are they?

Somerset should be able to hit, but they will struggle against top-flite arms.

Long-term, Perkins will be better. That's not taking anything away from Brown, because he's an outstanding pitcher.

I like those kids, but I'm skeptical as to whether those guys have the chutzpah to be a No. 1 starter. I just think the Jumpers are going to have trouble until Grundy finds someone with the guts to be the next Nathan Bray.

They all have decent speed, some just lack the control that they need at the high school level. I think with Grundy's MLB pitching experiance that this could be fixed rather quickly. I look foward to watching this sophmore class play in the years to come.

Grundy played professionally, but didn't play Major League Baseball.

I knew he didnt play any, but didnt he dress a few games with the Royals?

Nope. Darren Burton never cracked the Big Leagues either. Both advanced as high as AAA ball, but never quite made it.

However, Burton was invited to spring training with the Royals several seasons, sort of the same thing Josh Anderson will be doing this spring.

I think that Josh will have the best shot of getting to play in the big leagues out of everyone else.

Josh has is priorities set which will probably lead to more success than Grundy or Burton. The best thing that could happen for Josh would be to get traded.

I figured that he might get his chance when Biggio Retires.. Which as we all know will be soon

I've thought that as well, but with the state of the game of basebal today (ie power, power, power), the Astros probably wouldn't take a chance with two singles hitting, speedy players in the same outfield. Tavares is set in center, and already provides speed and average.

The Somerset Briar Jumpers will be very good this year. It will all be done by the strong pitching performance by Jordy Molen. This guy has got one of the sickest curveballs in the region. If they will be able to get some hitting they should be able to go far in the region.
