This is directed more toward the higher level programs. I know many of the small schools start sophomores because of numbers. I am interested in knowing the sophomores starting at the big schools and especially in the top programs. So who are the sophomores that are so good they are already starting varsity this season at the big schools and the "high level" programs?

Lone Oak quarterback Cole Ousley threw for 3,372 yards (34 TD, 13 INT) last season as a freshman.

Keep an eye on Aaron Morgan at Cooper High School. He will prove to be one of the top cover corners in NKY this season. He will be a good one.

That's impressive! I wouldn't even expect a freshman to start at Lone Oak, let alone put up those kind of numbers. How big is he and is he hitting the summer camp circuit?

He's something like 6-3, 180 ... I really don't know where all he went this summer, but it's my understanding that he is getting plenty of attention.

Lone Oak puts up some numbers in their offense. I think the qb from Troy is now at Lone Oak.

IMO Barker and the kid from Lone Oak will be in the discussion for best qb in the class of 2014 when they are seniors.

Lone Oak High School sophomore quarterback Cole Ousley has been named to the MaxPreps.com listing of top 100 players nationally in the Class of 2014 heading into the season.The 6-foot-3, 160-pound Ousley is the lone Kentuckian on the listing. Ousley threw for 3,372 yards and 34 touchdowns for the Purple Flash as a freshman. He completed 227 of 349 passes on the season.

The other big winner in LO's decision to start Ousley is PT who now has the qb that was going to start for the Purple Flash. He transferred to PT and will be their qb and he isn't bad

Mayfield has a J Jackson who would have started for any team in the state at linebacker as a sophomore regardless of class. I realize that is not the question of the thread but I needed to get that out there

Zach Chitwood Sophmore Safety for Harlan County. Got playing time as a frosh last year at Safety and RB. Larkey really likes this kid. Was 6th man on the Harlan (Ind) Green Dragons basketball team as an 8th Grader before transferring to the county.

atleast the kid from Lone Oak has put up numbers in Varsity competition. We put to many kids as the next coming but yet have played and varsity action.
