July 13, 201115 yr Is he trying to not play this year? No way he gets by with these comments without some sort of suspension IMO. Harrison Calls Goddell "Devil" Among Other Things
July 13, 201115 yr "If that man was on fire and I had to pee to put him out, I wouldn't do it," Harrison told the magazine. "I hate him and will never respect him." His other descriptions of the commissioner include an anti-gay slur, "stupid," "puppet" and "dictator." Wow...tell us how you really feel.
July 13, 201115 yr Author He also criticized Rashaad Mendenhall and Big Ben for their play in the Super Bowl. We all know the Steelers won't do anything to him either. If he were a reserve, he'd be cut as soon as the lockout ends.
July 13, 201115 yr Author Does anyone think he won't be punished serverely for this? I could see a huge fine coupled with a game or two suspension.
July 13, 201115 yr He is unfathomably stupid. I think he'd have to be suspended. On Roethlisberger: "Stop trying to act like Manning. You ain’t that. You just get paid like him."
July 13, 201115 yr Author Gregg Doyel things it's a suspension at minimum. Also, it seems Goddell has the power to discipline players during the lockout.
July 13, 201115 yr Harrison also questions whether a black player is punished more for a hard hit on a white player than the opposite. "I slammed Vince Young on his head and paid five grand, but just touched Drew Brees and that was 20," Harrison said. "You think black players don't see this s--- and lose all respect for Goodell?" I don't remember, but any chance the hit on Brees was a second offense? This guy just doesn't get it. Maybe he has more head trauma than what he's dished out to others.
July 13, 201115 yr We all got a laugh about this on break here at work. He definitely will tell everyone how he feels. I won't be surprised either way if he is suspended or not suspended. What do you suspend him for though? Using the anti-gay slur? That'd be about it wouldn't it? He doesn't like Goodell and made it clear. Is that a suspension worthy action?

Tell you're boss you hate him, call him the devil, and that you don't respect him. Then call him stupid, a dictator, a puppet, and use an anti-gay slur. I think you or I would be very lucky to just be suspended.

He lost me when he started talking retirement after his slew of fines last season. The rules have changed and if you really love football you'll change with the rules. I hate the rule changes also and want to see folks get jacked up but I'd rather see Aaron Rodgers not have to retire early because of too many concussions. Harrison may have too much head trauma.

I think you or I would be very lucky to just be suspended. I don't know. I've seen and heard people do worse or similar things here at work and nothing happened. I've also seen people do much less and get fired. Plus, this didn't take place at an NFL sanctioned event. Away from work I can say what I want to about my boss to anyone. Legally I don't know if Goodell can suspend him for something that doesn't involve the sport or isn't a post game press conference or an NFL sanctioned event. It'd basically look like Goodell is power tripping because Harrison told Men's Journal he hates him. Now if he suspends him for the anti-gay slur then I'd understand.

And it'll be a huge fine and at least a game suspension if not more IMO, because this is an ongoing issue with Harrison.
July 13, 201115 yr Author I don't think Big Ben is going to be sending him any Christmas cards anytime soon. "Hey, at least throw a pick on their side of the field instead of asking the D to bail you out again. Or hand the ball off and stop trying to act like Peyton Manning. You ain't that and you know it, man; you just get paid like he does." Also called Mendenhall a "fumble machine". This guy has lost it.

It'd be funny if he gave him 4 games for using the slur and made him do some public announcements denouncing the use of gay slurs. Along with a big fine. Harrison may end up being the first person to talk his way out of the league.
