Purplepride Im almost positive Jake is already the starter. Alex Guay hasnt taken a snap for a while now and the two other people that takes snaps are freshman.

 

 

Good. I love G more than most but I would rather see Jake be a three year starter at QB instead of a two year starter. It's good to see G won't be the QB just because he is a senior. Mercer will benefit in the long run. Will G be a receiver now? I hear Russell Sims is the only person looking good at receiver now. G would certainly be a great receiver for you guys. How is Isaiah Burris doing making the transition to receiver?

Long will be starting qb and backed up by freshman Austin Sparrow who will probably qb JV team. Long is looking good learning the new offense and has a great arm. Guay not taking any snaps and is starting safety. With Rains platooning philosphy players only play 1 way. Could be a good year for the Titans. Hopefully getting some wins and getting the program back on track.

I am guessing that Alex Guay will get the starting nod as qb. Guay is a senior and Long is a sophomore and I could see Long being the starting qb by the end of the year or getting regular snaps in each game. I have heard they both look good but they both look good doing different things. One makes better decisions the other has a better arm.

 

I have been told Coach Rains is bringing his offense and installing it. Even sent the team to the Tony Franklin camp for practice on learning the offense. I even heard he told the middle school to install the offense and their offensive players went to the camp as well. I was told that he told the middle school coaches that he doesn't care if the middle school doesn't win a game their job is to install the offense. What's funny is I am hearing the middle school looks great running the offense. They were already going to be the most talented middle school team Mercer County has seen in a long time but apparently they are picking things up quickly at the middle school level. I plan to watch the middle school team often this fall. This group will be fun to track.

 

The Air Raid seems like such an easy offense for kids to learn. If a team is struggling to put up points, I'd always suggest to atleast look at the Franklin System. Kids can learn much of it in a week. :thumb:

As posted G will be a defensive player. If anything was to happen to JT i look for Alex to come in since he is an upperclassman and through spring ball he was the QB. Russell is looking great from what im hearing from people thats been to the 7 on 7 but at the same time that isnt real football. Darion Lewis and Isaiah both can be very deadly in this style of offense but they both have a history of dropping passes when full contact comes around (hint hint). Layne Peavler looked really good against Danville in the 7 on 7 also but with his height and weight who really knows what kind and how many hits he can take. Aaron Miller is also looking very good. He has nice hands and is quick and also has height. They have went to full contact practices so i will try to keep you updated Purple.

I think they scrimmage Green County Friday and they scrimmage Central Hardin next Friday but that may move to Thursday so they can attend the biggest game in the state on August 19th.

That would be nice if they did may make the trip to Mercer, if it is on thursday, keep me updated. Will this be a game situation?

As far as I know they both should be. I'll see if I can find out and let you know something.

Mercer County lost 44-0. A whole lot of work to do. I wasn't there but I'll have to wait until I get ot work on Monday to get details on the scrimmage.
