People care much more about religious issues than our country being united. If people cared about our country being united the bomb throwers on both sides wouldn't get the play they do.

Well, they (My comments) "Jive" for me all thats what counts.

 

My comments meant (not jiving for you) was saying God discovered America, God gave our fathers this land, "One nation under who? God created the "fathers". Under God was put in 1954 before most of were born so we grew up saying and hearing it that way, so who changed it? NBC (man) which I mentioned as changing and not God. On the POUS "dragging his feet", I was only one, and and I don't remember the other stuff being important as GOD being removed for the pledge. Love the word and song "Jive talking".

Who wrote it? Man...Who changed it in 1954? I believe that was man also. The pledge has zero to do with religion and under god should never have been added.

You lost me on your first statement. What is bothering me and what am I suppose to write the president about? As far as how the nation would feel, I really don't care. I would bet a large percentage would agree. Christains are the only ones making it about religion. Is the pledge in the bible any where? Does your church start off service with the pledge? How do you know the holy spirit did guide the president in 1954?

"You are entitled" means you have the right to interject your comments as you see fit. Even if I disagree, and I say about the same at the end of the post. We both have the right. Sorry I lost you I should have made it clearer.

I know what entitled means. I was talking about writing the president part. It doesn't bother me one bit that they put it in but it also doesn't bother who leaves it out or if they removed it from the pledge. The fact is it shouldn't be in there. There are plenty of AMERICANS that don't believe in god and the pledge should represent them as well as you or I. The pledge isn't about anyones religion and if the phase is removed it doesn't change the message. As far as who is upset about it, no I don't care. It's my problem. There are 2 billion things going on that are more important then whether or not this phase, which wasn't in the original version, gets left out.

Did you blink or twitch your nose RM? But if you count the already posts I think its about 10-3 that are upset with NBC, but I will not lose any time at football practice worrying about it. (Getting my kid ready for the Rocks)

Like you I like a good debate. I didn't say it shouldn't be talked about. I said it should be nonexistent on the list of things to be upset about. Again, it's not a religous pledge, it's a patriotic one.

Sadly, NBC's actions on Sunday clearly demonstrated how the public mention of God is under attack in our nation. Very unfortunate that a small minority (squeaky wheels) are changing this country for the worse. A "Melting Pot" we are not, but a "Salad Bowl"? I think that fits much better.

NBC didn't make the decision, a manager did. Managers make these kinds of decisions daily. I wonder why he thought he could get away with it? What does that say about the culture there?
