First practice of team camp (in pads) went well. I am looking forward to tonight's practice and seehow they do on sore legs. Although, conditioning doesn't seem to be an issue.

This team can do very well if they stay healthy,my concern would be depth if they have an injury or 2. They have alot of underclassmen that would have to be ready to play at a high level,and that might be a year or maybe 2 away. They have the talent,it is just going to take a little time. These underclassmen will grow so much between now and next season,physically and strenghthwise. Overall, future looks bright. After this season,Russell will be pretty much depleted. Hope Davidson is healthy all season, will be a huge difference when Russell plays Raceland.

I agree. Although, I have to say the sophomores and juniors seem to be really stepping up and looking pretty seasoned. Now, granted, they have lined up against a senior ladened team yet, so that may be a false impression.

 

One surprise, junior OL/LB Devin Thomas is looking like a man on a mission. He looks like he wants to make a difference.

I went to a site and had a Raceland Football shirt designed. It should be here in a week or so. I have "TCB" and "Taking Care of Business" on the back. It should be pretty cool.

I was on the practice field with the team until 10pm last night. I, like Ram, may be delusional because we are playing against our own guys but I think we look pretty good. Maybe it is because all players hustle and all players do as they are told but I thought they hit hard and ran hard. Obviously, we have to have 11 doing it in unison in order to be successful this year. One thing is for certain, the Rams will be physical and won't embarrass the Raceland alumni with lazy, soft defense like last year. :thumb:

As for the bolded......it's about time! I love to see a Raceland team HIT! I have been close to and watched Raceland football for 35-40 years and the hitting is the one thing that has always been what Raceland was known for. I have watched alot of Raceland teams play teams that were probably more talented that the Rams beat bc of their pride and the way they hit.

I have been close to and watched Raceland football for 35-40 years and the hitting is the one thing that has always been what Raceland was known for. I have watched alot of Raceland teams play teams that were probably more talented that the Rams beat bc of their pride and the way they hit.

If you get the opprotunity, go watch the 7th and 8th grade boys. They hit hard and are very physical. I am excited to see what they do in a few years. Best looking classes of "Hitmen" in a while. Guarranteed.
