In a battle of Northern Kentucky's two top teams, the Lady 'Stangs came up a bit short in their battle in Union. The two teams battled to a four inning 0-0 tie as Alicia Miller (18-4) and Haylee Smith (18-6) were almost perfect. Then Smith dumped a single to left that Shannon Kramer came within a half second of holding onto for a spectacular catch and Katie Cremer singled thru short. Two batters later McKell Oliverio single in two runs and it was 2-1 Ryle. They added an insurance run in the sixth but Brossart battled back. Gretchen trumbo singled in Maria Greis to make it 3-1 with one out in the seventh before a strikeout and deep fly ball ended the game. It was Brossart's first loss to a Northern Kentucky team all season.

Sounds like a great game. First lose to a northern kentucky team is pretty impressive. Has BB played Connor, Boone, St Henry, Walton, NCC or any of the other top teams in NKY? If so how did they do.

They beat NC. They player Conner to end the season. They have not played Boone.

Not Walton either. Later in the season if it does not get cancelled.

Brossart beat NCC 7-0, beat Conner 4-2 in a scrimmage, play Walton, Conner and St. Henry this week.

Thats a pretty tough schedule for one week to play Walton, ST. Henry & Conner ( All good teams )

Ryle is no doubt the top team in NKY but BB #2 is a laugher. They have played a very weak

schedule and that has cost them in last yuears district and again this year in the All A Regional.

Have to win some big games to be considered one of the best

Brossart has a real nice team . This week will tell they have ST. Henry, Walton & Conner. I seen them play Bracken in the all A & Ryle and both of those games could of went either way. I'm with ya though close doesnt count and only time will tell after this week.

What exactly will time tell after this week? That Brossart can or can't beat teams more equally matched? Have to agree with oldtime....let's talk after some bigger games have been played.

It's all about pitching in high school, if you look at the top ten by teams it is almost in order of best pitcher's also.

I'm sure a lot of the 9th region schools & former 9th region/now 10th region schools would say Bracken isn't. But geographically, if Bracken County isn't northern Kentucky, I don't know what it is.

And people complain about my spelling!! Seriously;y thought you are right they lose all they have this year and will be in trouble next year.
