It's all about pitching in high school, if you look at the top ten by teams it is almost in order of best pitcher's also.

Your statement is even more spot on in an area where the talent pool is weak and thin. I've seen a good deal of the teams in the area this year and no more than a hand full of good swings.

And people complain about my spelling!! Seriously;y thought you are right they lose all they have this year and will be in trouble next year.

 

I'm guilty of "fat fingering" the F key. This computer at the library is slow and a piece of junk, I'll try better next time.

The only seniors they lose are at third, short, pitch, & catcher. They have 3 8th graders that are just as good as the seniors that will be lost, EXCEPT for the pitcher.

No worries just kidden around a little! I think HHS is in the same spot. Last night against against Holmes we started 4 Fresh or younger and a Jr.

I agree that the talent pool is weak in the area but it seems to be improving. We have a long way to go but it seems like this year there is more talent than the last couple of years.

 

There are several really good players in the area they just seem to be spread out. Smith from Ryle will be a force for years with both her pitching and hitting (Ryle has several really good players). Salzer from St Henry is a really good all around player. Moran from Holy Cross is one of the best sophomores in the mid west and will have her pick of Div 1 schools to choose from. Those are just a few of many quality kids in the area.

 

But in every level of softball it comes down to pitching.

I agree, no pitching means no chance and you are right there are some good players in the area, the problem is they are spread so thin between the 30+ schools in N. Kentucky.
