May 2, 201115 yr According to J Demling: Rodney Purvis, one of the top high school basketball players nationally in the Class of 2012, has backed off his previous commitment to Louisville. The 6-foot-4 Purvis committed to the Cardinals in December and had a long-standing relationship with assistant coach Tim Fuller, who recently left the program for Missouri. Purvis said recently after Fuller left that he was still committed to U of L and had several tweets pointed towards the Louisville fanbase. There had been speculation for several days that he might re-opened the recruiting process and he confirmed that he decommitted over the weekend with both Scout.com and ESPN.com. "I just want to develop a new relationship with the new staff. Louisville isn’t out or anything like that," Purvis told Scout. Duke, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Kentucky were among the schools after him before he committed to Louisville. North Carolina is also likely going to be in the mix. "It was hard losing Tim Fuller and then having to focus," Purvis told ESPN. "I talked it over with my family and we came to the conclusion that I would open up my recruitment." Purvis said Louisville is not out of the mix. http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jodydemling/2011/05/02/rodney-purvis-backs-off-louisville-commitment/
May 2, 201115 yr Purvis tweeted that UL is still his #1 choice and that he just needs to develop a relationship with the new staff. History, though, says that a very small % of kids that decommit end up back in the fold.
May 2, 201115 yr I'd love nothing more than to snag Purvis, Coleman, and Muhammad for the 2012 class.
May 3, 201115 yr I'd love nothing more than to snag Purvis, Coleman, and Muhammad for the 2012 class. Wow, that'd be a monster class.
May 3, 201115 yr ^ Coleman is a banger, I love his game. I know Drummond gets all the accolade and rightfully so but if you want a guy whos going to be down there on the blocks and do what you need your big man to do then Dejuan Coleman is your guy. I love a big banger down low.

May 3, 201115 yr Drummond doesn't do it for me. Tons of talent, but no motor at all... Huh. I've always like Jeff Drummond.
May 3, 201115 yr Huh. I've always like Jeff Drummond. JDrum is my guy. Andre would be unstoppable with his work ethic...
May 3, 201115 yr Drummond doesn't do it for me. Tons of talent, but no motor at all... The more stuff I gather the more and more I'd rather have Coleman any day of the week. I know your on the road and seen a lot more of them than I have but I would much rather have Coleman if I was a coach and could choose between the two.

I'd take the way more talented guy and try and light a fire under him somehow.
May 3, 201115 yr I wouldn't. I'd take the way more talented guy and try and light a fire under him somehow. Drummond might use his athleticism to get to some boards but hes not going to win a box out with Coleman I'll tell you that. Drummond would be out on the perimeter by the time Coleman got through with him, he would bang with him every time down the floor, just grinding out those boards.
