May 9, 201115 yr Author The show is getting better and better every week. I didnt know how good it would compare to the books but HBO has outdone themselves with this one. I love Sam Tarley and you've only seen him for about a total of 15 minutes. I also think the actor who plays Viscerys is doing a GREAT job acting. He is doing exactly what I think of him as. Also even though it was last weeks episode and only got to see him for about 3 minutes I just LOVE the guy playing Syrio

Or is it crossing over into Clash of Kings as well? I've yet to watch for fear of getting ahead of where I am in the books.
May 9, 201115 yr I was going to head to Chow Wagon tonight. But I'm really thinking that could become, "sit and read non-stop until bed". Only got about an hour of reading in this past weekend, so this is exactly what my night is going to consist of.

My understanding is that season 1 will be Game of Thrones, season 2 will be Clash of Kings and keep going from there. There is still ALOT left in GoT so even if it did maybe overlap there is still plenty of time to get reading

I remember my first time reading through the series . This will be my third round of reading it, and still same as the first time, any free time I have goes to the books.

One thing I've been impressed with on this show is that nothing has really looked terribly different than I what I had imagined while reading the books. Obviously, I didn't imagine Ned Stark to look just like Sean Bean, but all of the characters to date on the show have looked much like I envisioned them. And, the scenery as well... I'm pretty sure the first season covers the first book. I don't know if that's the plan for the rest of the series, although it seems a good possibility. I don't think there is anything in the first part of Clash of Kings that could end the season on as high a note as the first book ends, so that seems like an ideal way to end the first season. I really enjoyed Episode 4. I thought they started to progress the story a bit more, introducing more characters and some relevant history. The ending is what I thought it would be based on the books.
May 10, 201115 yr OK remind me, who is Syrio? BTW I'm reading the first book now. I've pretty much caught up with the series.
May 12, 201115 yr Okay, so I know the 5th book is being released July 12th, but how many are there supposed to be? Is that the final one?
May 12, 201115 yr Author Okay, so I know the 5th book is being released July 12th, but how many are there supposed to be? Is that the final one? 7 total. Though it took him soooooooooooo long to get this upcoming one to come out. He delayed it, delayed it, delayed it and finally getting released.
May 13, 201115 yr 7 total. Though it took him soooooooooooo long to get this upcoming one to come out. He delayed it, delayed it, delayed it and finally getting released. If he doesn't pick up the pace for the last two, the HBO writers might have to make up their own story for the last season or two.
May 13, 201115 yr Looking ahead the title of the episode May 22 is The Golden Crown. I've been wondering how they'll show that.
May 16, 201115 yr Author Starting to become exactly like the book. Can't wait for next weeks episode now.
May 16, 201115 yr Starting to become exactly like the book. Can't wait for next weeks episode now. Except you know coming out and blatantly saying that Renly was gay as opposed to just hinting at it. I mean by the time you got to the most recent book there was no doubt about it, it was just kind of out of place to me.

I don't even know the purpose of it in the show other than to maybe set a little something up for a Clash of Kings.
