March 9, 201115 yr Sure wish Irving stayed healthy. [deep breath]....release.......sigh...........you and me both.......
March 9, 201115 yr Big diffrence in doing it 2 times a year and on a night in night out basis. He gets rebounds yes, but he still has put up massive numbers playing below average teams. I do not consider the best player on the floor in a Morehead vs EKU game to be great. He is a good player in a bad confrence IMO, but he is good no dobut I just do not see him above Jones in any shape way form or fashion. The schedule he plays would keep him off any of my ballots. Faried is the best (eligible) big man in the state of Kentucky this season and it's not close. You have obviously not watched Mr. Faried play at all.

So should Fredette be punished because he was on a mid major team? Faried played better OOC teams than Jimmer did imo....
March 9, 201115 yr Author Faried is the best (eligible) big man in the state of Kentucky this season and it's not close. You have obviously not watched Mr. Faried play at all. I have watched him several times, a couple live, and he is still playing against weaker competition 85% of the time. I would take Jones any day of the week over Faried. Jones has done it against a major confrence and a good OOC schedule. So he (Faried) played well against Flordia & OSU I will give him that. Harrelson played well against UofL he is not AA material either. I think he will be a very good pro because of his work ethic and toughness, but I do not think he is one of the 15 best college basketball players this season. JMO.
March 9, 201115 yr Author So should Fredette be punished because he was on a mid major team? Faried played better OOC teams than Jimmer did imo.... I will agree here also. I think the country has fallen in love with Jimmer in part due to ESPN's love of the "little guy" and his scoring average. I do not think Jimmer is POY material because of his competition night in and night out. His scoring average gets him some love that could or could not be justified IMO.
March 9, 201115 yr Author Sure wish Irving stayed healthy. Before he went down I thought he was the best player in the country (even better than Kemba Walker). He did not score as much as some, but he seemed to control games from start to finish. He could dominate games without having to take them over scoring. I am a UK fan and pull against Duke, but I would tune in to watch this kid any day of the week.
March 9, 201115 yr How did Lamb win this 6th man of the year and not SEC 6th man of the year? I thought that was crazy.

March 9, 201115 yr Faried vs.: Ohio State - 15pts, 12 rbs, 5 stl and 2 blks Florida - 20pts, 18rb, 2st, 2blk I'd say he held his own against top-notch competition. I was getting ready to post that :thumb:

Kenneth has showed out just about everytime he's played good competition. Jones is more talented, but Faried could start and play anywhere in America IMO. UK would be crazy good with him starting and Mr. Hustle coming off the bench.

March 11, 201115 yr You are right both times. Not like he has done it every game all season. If you can't get on board with the NCAA's all-time modern era rebounding leader who averaged 17 and 14 being an AA before an inconsistent freshman then I don't know what to tell you. If you're strictly looking at this from the "who did they play?" standpoint you don't understand what goes into being an AA.

If you're strictly looking at this from the "who did they play?" standpoint you don't understand what goes into being an AA. Ok sure. Maybe I feel to be considered one of the best players in the country you should have to perform on a night in night out basis against quality talent. The all time leading rebounder that is a great acomplishment but it is not like he played against the same talent as Duncan did when he set the record. I think Duncan's acomplishment is more impressive in the ACC than Faried's is against EKU and other comparable teams. Not saying that Faried is not a good player, but I would not vote him as an AA since he plays weaker competiton more often than not. Just my opinion, no point in getting upset about it.
