Cover Corner- changed your opinion on Faried yet? 12 and 17 against the Cards...

Against the same team that allowed Harrelson to go for 23 points & 14. By your logic would you then consider Harrelson better than Faried since he put up much better numbers against U of L? I don't. I think Faried is a good player that has played against lesser talent for most of his career. I think he will be a good pro and plays as hard if not harder than any player in the country and has a great nose for the ball, but I do not think he is All American material. Just my view on it.

And let us be honest, Faried is still able to dominate on the boards and defensively with anyone, but it is going to take him a while to develop any type of offensive consistency in the NBA if he ever does. As big as he is, even with UL's average post guys, he struggled to put the ball in the basket and was rejected a few times. I like the Rodman comparisons. Faried is one of my favorites to ever watch.

I just don't see how you can deny someone who is the NCAAs all-time leading rebounder a spot on an AA team. Sure, he plays against weaker competition, but he's dominated in the big games, too.

It is not flashy what he does and his notoriety has come only from this year. We all knew him in this state, but 95% of America had never heard of the guy until yesterday. Ferdette is a good example. He gained some exposure last year and channeled it in to this year. Had BYU not made last year's tournament with his coming out party, his name would not be near what it is today.

I would not call 12 & 17 dominating U of L. I think he is a good player but if I were taking an All Star team from the NCAA and only had 15 spots I would not pick Faried. He has set an all time record against weaker competition. I think it would compare to Travis Grant from K-State being considered an All American over Julies Erving since he scored more points. Stats do not tell the whole story to me. Just my view on it.

You're right. Not only the stats, but he's led Morehead to the tournament two of the past three years. The other time was a loss to Murray in the OVC finals. Not only that, but he led the team in a "Shining Moment" win against the Big East tournament runner-up and in-state rival. These were Morehead's first tournament appearances in nearly 30 years. Yesterday did nothing but solidfy what I already believed.

Those are great acomplishments, but they are still against lesser competition. That was a HUGE win for Morehead and I am tickled to death they got the win, but his solid performance yet not great also solidfies what I already believed. That he dominated less talented competition and recorded super stats in the process. He may prove me wrong later down the road, and I somewhat hope he does, but even after the U of L game he would not be on my All American team.
